My husband and I had been looking for a reliable and dependable dentist for 2 years since our previous dentist had a high turnover rate. After intensive research, we came across Sage Dental in Roswell, GA. We have to admit, we were quite impressed with not only the dentist, Dr. James Maina, but his entire staff from Office Managers, Stephanie and Mike; to his assistants, Chris and My all made us feel like we were their top priority. Dr. Maina's knowledge and expertise made us feel extremely comfortable and not like we were a number. The entire staff was professional and courteous with all our needs. If you are looking for a friendly, and professional dentist that is all about the patients needs and not their funds, then Sage Dental is the dentist office for you!
I always get a little nervous going to a new dentist because it can sometimes just feel like a money grab. But from the moment i went to the check in counter I felt super welcomed! The staff is so kind and helpful. They even comforted me while I was getting my first filling lol. And Dr Maina is amazing! Super knowledgeable, funny and really kind to me! I truly felt like I was in a family atmosphere. Super happy my insurance covers this place because I plan I making this my place!
I wish there was a way to add an overview without having to pick an one star rating because honestly speaking this practice doesn’t even deserve that much. This will be my first and LAST time with this dentist office. I came in for a new patient exam, and after the examination I was provided a treatment plan. I was advised my insurance will be billed and after what my insurance pays there will be some out of pocket patient responsibility for me to pay. After speaking with my insurance company everything they were trying to bill me, my insurance company covered at 100%. I called and advised the office of this information and asked if they can contact my insurance as well for confirmation. I also provided a reference number for when I spoke with my insurance company. I was advised I would get a call back but never did. I had to call to follow up all for the representative to say yes I spoke with your insurance and you are covered at 100% but for some reason she was having issues with editing the treatment and my responsibility. I was instructed to call back the following day for an update. I received an email showing that I still had some out of pocket responsibility after getting confirmation that the services will be covered at 100% by my insurance company. I feel bad for the elders or the patients who aren’t equipped enough to contact their insurances before agreeing to pay for their treatment plan.
The doctor and his assistant are always very helpful and go very in depth about the treatment plans and necessary work I need done on my mouth. Also wanted to shoutout the office guy as he has been extremely helpful in helping me figure out payment plans and costs for my treatments. Thank you so much to everyone at Sage!
MY is an exceptionally professional efficient and gentle Dental Hygienist. I had a routine cleaning with her in recent weeks. MY took her time with me and provided invaluable dental education and feedback. It was hands down the best dental cleaning I have ever experienced. Thank you, MY!
Very professional and friendly office. Diligent, yet not overbearing, about appointment reminders and treatment solutions. Dr. Maina removed the uneasiness of being in a dental office and was very personalable. The team was friendly and very nice . I highly recommend for any other Dentist Chickens, like myself.

Dr. Maina is efficient and professional, Chris is skilled and understanding and Mike is knowledgable and helpful explaining everything that need to be done. I visited Sage in Roswell after a few years of not having seen a dentist due to lack of insurance. I knew I would need some work, I was prepared for that. I was given a laundry list of work I needed done, including veneers, braces, and a crown on a tooth I have never once had an issue with. I initially set up a follow up appointment to start working on the things they assured me I needed, but my gut told me to get a second opinion as they were asking for money I did not have. I am glad I listened to my gut, and it seems a lot of others have had the same issues I had. It then took 3 phone calls to cancel one appointment, and no one would answer me when I asked why I was being billed a second time for services I already paid for after leaving my first appointment. This first appointment didn't even include the cleaning I had initially asked for. I guess this is what happens when you force all your dentists to be used car salesmen
I had a tooth pulled this morning. Dr. Maina was reassuring that I would be ok through the extraction and I was. His assistant was so nice. I think I was in the office for about an hour from the time I arrived until I left. They are professional and welcoming.
