Dispatch seems nice enough but response time is horrible. I called the non emergency line for a noise complaint and I understand that’s low priority so I expected to wait a bit but an hour after I called dispatch called me back and apologized for the delay and said they would send a unit and an hour later still no appearance. Again I understand noise complaints are low priority but 2 hours with no response on something that takes all of a few minutes to address on at least a basic level. Especially when every night on my way back from work I’ve seen at least a dozen units patrolling the area low income area surprise surprise
If you or your family plan to settle down in this city in the future, please DONT. My car got broke in last March, called 911 and even filed a police report, got a promise from the call that they would dispatch someone down for an investigation which they did not, and a official police response to the report that there is nothing they can help because there were no camera footage A DAY AFTER. They do have lots of dispatchers going around the area to enforce minor things like missing front plate, but if you're unlucky enough to get your car or your house broke in, sorry to say that they won't be that much help.
Unless you wanna wait a 1-3 hours to get either laughed or yelled at I wouldn't even bother calling trashy city and people I feel sorry if theirs decent citizens being bullied by the police after an incident. I hope this city continues to get worse judging by their arrival time they want it that way. I will never set foot in this city for the rest of my and my children's lives.
Horrible personalities. one star is for the the two decent employees to ever help me here, sure theyre long gone now. Employees are just angry all the time. Hate having to go here for anything. Be prepared for Ramsey County's finest attitudes that comes with the service.
How many people can wait an half an hour for police service. Then the 911 abandons the call because after waiting more than 30 minutes they don’t care about you or what happened or if anyone is hurt great police service.
Officers Wanschura & Yang showed our daughter kindness and compassion last night after the Hockey game when they were lost and couldn't find their vehicle. We know with individuals like this in your department we will be well cared for in the City of St. Paul. Thank you for employing such wonderful officers. These individuals may feel the kindness they showed was trivial but it meant a lot to our family. Our daughter was lost in an unknown city with a low cell phone battery. Theses individuals stayed with her until we were able to arrive so she was no longer stranded. We are extremely grateful for your kindness! Robert & Darla
Very nice people! Gentle with the handcuffs and the backseat of the car was spotless. The officer listened to everything i said and my life stories! I can't thank them more for their service, will be sure to see them again soon!
Got there around 3:00 to meet a heartless desk officer that seemed to be bothered by my situation. People wonder why this world is the way it is. Thanks for the business card for another unit that didn't have time to return my call!
We had an attempted home invasion a few nights ago. It turned out to be an angry, hostile drunk who thought he lives here. But it was alarming not knowing what it was: Is it several guys? Is he armed ? Will he shoot through the door as we held it? Will he start breaking windows to get in? Is he high? Is someone else at another door too? He definitely wasn't going away. He was kicking the door and throwing his body against it; and the door was starting to give. In a matter of minutes after contacting 911, several squad cars with about 8 cops converged on the house, guns drawn, spotlights, and no-nonsense commands for him to get down on the ground. He was a big, chunky guy, wearing nothing but shorts and a baseball cap. Apparently drunk or high. The cops were great, .... very professional and solicitous about our well-being and any property damage. They were spit-and-polish in their appearance, and also in their handling of the situation. It was nighttime, so as they swept the side yards, the back yard, and the alley for anyone else, I was acutely aware that someone could just stand up in the dark and shoot them. But they were making certain there was no further threat to us. They functioned as a highly trained team; we were really impressed.
Wow! I am so thankful for The Saint Paul Police Department. I need assistance the next 3 nights on Arcade to lock up a business at 11pm. When I called the non emergency number, she was so nice and said, "that's no problem, just give us a call and we will have an officer meet you there". Thank you, Saint Paul Police Department!!!
