Poor customer service. The watch salesman seemed incredulous that I had purchased a Movado watch from Saks that was not working. I didn't have the receipt, but the warranty card. He took it in for service. I went to the store over a month later to inquire about the watch -- still no update. I'm following up yet again, as it's been some time since giving them the piece to send back to the manufacturer. Mind you, this was a watch I purchased less than a year ago, so I wouldn't expect issues this early on from luxury brand, nor luxury dept store. And the salesman was very unhelpful. Clearly, Saks isn't reading consumer reviews -- me reading poor reviews from a year ago confirms my notion about this store.
On 6 June 2015, I visited the Saks Fifth Avenue store in order to purchase a gift for a friend's upcoming birthday. I eventually settled on a top Elie Tahari that I thought my friend would like. Please note that while I was shopping for this top, no associate on the entire floor once approached me to ask if she could assist me with finding the right size, make any recommendations, etc. It was completely barren. I was not greeted once. I visited other stores within the same mall, and when I returned to Saks Fifth Avenue a second time, it was the same experience. No associate greeted me even once or asked me what I needed. When I decided on what I wanted to purchase, I had to walk the entire length of the floor, circling around, before I found an associate at the register. One associate walked away as I approached the register, laughing. I have no idea what she was laughing about - perhaps someone was calling her. If so, I don't know. One associate was chatting with a customer. And when I say chatting, I mean they were standing in the middle of the path, and I did not feel at all that the associate in question wearing a pink dress, brown hair, ponytail, Caucasian was actually recommending clothes to the customer since they were quite literally facing each other and chatting and not perusing any of the merchandise surrounding them. The customer was also not holding a Saks Fifth Avenue shopping bag and wasn't browsing. Other associates, even when I was hovering around them, did not acknowledge my presence. And finally, I found one associate standing at a counter the one who eventually rang up my merchandise, Yung Ju Lee. You can imagine my displeasure when after I asked Yung Ju to ring up a single item of clothing she asked that I go away to another department and look for another associate. I was furious and told her it was a ridiculous situation in which to place any customer. I also demanded to speak to her manager. She got very nervous and irritated when I got upset, and she made a call to the manager. She seemed also incapable of juggling two customers at the same time, even though the other customer was already taken care of and just waiting for the tailor to arrive. It seemed like such a joke for a store like Saks to offer this poor level of customer service. It also took the manager quite some time to arrive, and when she the manager's name is Dolores eventually did, she asked me what the issue or question was. I felt like her tone was slightly confrontational, so I immediately told it was an exceedingly poor level of customer service and that I was having an extremely negative experience with making what should be a straightforward and quite simple purchase. Also, I'd like to note that the associate who eventually deigned to help me it was like pulling teeth, also gave me the Saks Fifth Avenue card of another customer. The card was on her table, and she passed it to me, thinking it was my card. I told her my card was already in my wallet, and that she had just tried to give me the card of another customer the one who was waiting for the tailor in the fitting room. I couldn't believe it. All in all, it was just a shoddy experience. I do not consider myself a difficult customer - I'm fine with taking care of myself in a store, but when I just want to purchase an item, I will need help at least ringing the item up and having it gift-wrapped, if applicable. I do not consider these expectations particularly high, and I am just shocked by the treatment I received during my most recent visit. I'd like to add that the associate who assisted me eventually did wrap the purchased item in a gift box with ribbon, but after jumping through hoops just to get a box, tissue paper, ribbon, and a gift receipt, I still left the store feeling wholly and thoroughly displeased.
Nice store with all the major American and Euro designers and luxury goods sellers represented. This is the place to go in the mall if you're looking for the latest hot fashions and trends from the runways.
Worst Saks I've ever been to. I guess they weren't aware that I speak Spanish. Maybe insult your customers in a language that isn't so popular.
Things have changed. Excellent servicebetter than Neimans and product. The world of Men's on 3 is incredible as well.
Horrible customer service, You are better off at Nordstroms or Neiman Marcus.
I called into the store at Short Hills to ask a question and the Sales Associate hung up on me.
Saks Fifth Ave, closing soon.
