The food here is always awesome, the food is seriously good. Rock n roll is so bomb. Their sushi is pretty generous with the portions. The prices are fair for the quality. The kitchen puts out some mean food too, love the fried rice and the chicken maki appetizer. The service is always nice, but the management seems kind of weird. Other than that highly recommend this place to knock out your sushi craving or just to smash some fried rice.
I have a soft spot for this place, it's one of the first places that my wife and I went to on a date. It isn't my favorite place for Japanese food, but they do have some dang good sushi. The way they serve the Rock N Roll is my favorite way of getting it California rolls with fried soft shell crab on top, covered in sauce. They have a pretty extensive sushi menu, so there is always plenty to choose from. Service is always fast, the restaurant feels homey, and I've never been let down by the food. It isn't the premiere place for sushi in the area, but it is definitely a nice, quiet spot for a night out with a significant other.
I have been here twice and the food is spectacular every time but the service is terrible. The first time I came, they literally had no drink but water and tea with no sign posted that they did not have soda. The second time I came, they have no straws. The servers just act like you are invading their privacy and they act like they do not care to take your order. I came the second time to give it a shot and try to see if the service got better but I was highly disappointed. I love the food but the service just kills it. I am giving two stars because like I said, the food is spectacular.
Not the best Japanese cuisine that I've had and definitely pricey for what it serves. Overall the flavoring seemed rather crude either too salty, too sweet, etc. with relatively little left of what may be considered "Authentic" Japanese cuisine not that the restaurant necessarily bills itself as a place for such authenticity. The service was really friendly and professional, though.
My service tonight was awful. I have never had an experience as bad as the one I just had. The waiter only came to the table to bring us our drinks and food and never checked on us again. Never gave us refills on our drinks and when we asked him if we could have a to go drink he shook his head in disbelief that we asked this. It was like we were a burden to him.
I very rarely give sushi restaurants five stars. Heck, even four stars. This restaurant is amazing. My beau and I went on a Tuesday and had the Chet's full attention. The quality of the raw fish was to die for. I loved it.
Food is good the few times I've gone, but the place has some facility issues. Why are gnats flying around in middle of January? Hopefully they get that cleaned up before official inspection. But again, I've always liked the food here.
Yesterday, my fiance and I decided to try Sakura for the first time. Our waiter was excellent, he made recommendations and answered any questions that we had. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was okay, but kind of bland. I did like that it was served with onions, peppers, and cilantro... different from other places where we've ordered calamari. For entrees, my fiance ordered the drunken noodles and I ordered the Japanese ramen. My fiance seemed to enjoy his dish, but mine was bland, I expected it to have more flavor than it did. In all, it was a pleasant experience but I just wish that the food had more flavor.
Emily is an awesome waitress. Ask for her, you will have a great experience. The food is good, not fantastic, but good. We always have sushi, and we are not disappointed. The 2 star review is due to another waitress. A silly girl with a large back tattoo and a low cut tank. She has on the same outfit every time we are there. She is a horrible flirt. I am married and my husband and I always dine here with our kids. We are clearly a family. This silly girl never acknowledges anyone else at the table except my husband. He tries not to do anything to encourage her, but she is not one to take a hint. If you want sushi go, and be sure to sit in Emily's section. Otherwise you will have to battle off unwanted flirty cleavage during the entire meal. We won't be back.
Got th teriyaki chicken deluxe and my fiancé got the same with steak and it was amazingly cooked. It’s like it is crispy on the outside then melts in your mouth! Food was great and the service was as well. I thought the little soup bowls were cute too. Our waitress, Victoria was very sweet and we were seated when we walked in. I would suggest if they could use bowls for the salad instead of plates but then again that could just be my problem for not being able to eat a salad on a plate without flipping my lettuce off! Lol. Again, great food and place to eat and decently priced! I will probably start ordering food to go from here instead of sake more often.
