This review is based on this location my first and last time here! in Malden, as I have been to several others in several other states, and NEVER had an experience like I did today!! *Literally one of the most uncomfortable shopping experiences of my life* Go in to purchase color, developer, shampoo and conditioner. My boyfriend was with me. We browse for several mins. I grab what I need along the way as we are perusing the isles. I know there are shampoo/conditioner deals sometimes on the endcaps so I make my way there. The young woman standing at the register asks me "are you finding everything ok?" But not in a manner or tone where she was actually interested if I was, she DEFINITELY thought we were stealing! I tell her "yes". My boyfriend decides he wants the beard lotion that he saw in the first isle. He goes to retrieve it while I wait near the front so we can cash out. Another lady goes over and BLATANTLY stands at the end of the isle watching my boyfriend VERY INTENTLY. He returned with the item, and I proceeded to cash out. She tells me in a VERY rude manner that "yOU'rE eXpiReD sO YoU kNoW". To which I offer my recently renewed hard copy license for her viewing pleasure. She tells me "we don't have time to look it up" and goes on about how "next time you'll have to have the app" or whatever. Except...There will never be a next time in this location for me, or anyone I know because I will make sure EVERYONE is aware of the way we were treated in this store. Absolute worst customer service I EVER experienced. Looking at past reviews it looks to be a trend at this location. No wonder why there were "join our team" signs plastered along every isle. As a manager of retail myself, I would highly suggest y'all focus on the isles FULL of product lined in the middle of the floors creating a trip hazard for customers....rather then following around a customer and her black boyfriend because you think they are stealing. This salon centric certainly isn't customer centric! I will take my business to another location in the future, and I would HIGHLY suggest you do the same!
I’ve been going here for fifteen years even when it was called something else! Never in my time of going there have I been told I need to have an app to be a shopper it is a store for licensed professionals I’m. Or hit sure why an app is needed! On top of that the employees very rude I told her she can look me up by my cosmo license and her response was I’m too busy to do that that is why your supposed to have. An app! She wasn’t too busy to make me stand there fifteen. Minutes in line when the lady was already ring up and paid just chit chatting about Botox! But was too. Busy to do her actual job! I will never return to this or any other salon be tried because of this one the lady was so rude two I don’t need or want an app to go shopping there I spent money going to school to get my license that should be enough I’ve had my licenses for almost two decades that should be enough if customers aren’t allowed in the store or shopping without an app. Count me out!! I will order directly from the brands I like or go to cosmo pros where they aren’t too busy to help customer of fifteen years and I don’t need an app to buy anything just my hair license that cost me 30000 $ I know I can’t be the only person who feels this way never again will I set door in that store or any store in any state that is salon. Enteric I used to come because y’all sell opravana well now so does engine else do all set lost a loyal customer
I’ve been going to this location for a while now and have had ok experiences with the staff. This 5 star rating is solely for an employee I’ve met recently named Isaaic! Great attitude, friendly, helpful, honest and genuine!!! Came in on a busy weekend where he was helping multiple clients at a time all by himself, major props to you! While juggling so many things to do and people to tend to, he stayed calm, positive and eager to help. He really made my experience so welcoming and leaving satisfied.
i don’t know if it is she the manager, but the lady who is there most of the time so rude, She always have something to say so not to sell the product. I love salon center but this lady is absolutely rude.
I base a store on customer service and the Malden location has always had the best. My only complaint is they are frequently out of stock on things, probably because it’s a busy store. The Woburn location has more inventory because they’re not as busy. UPDATED REVIEW: A few months ago I had a bizarre interaction with an associate at the Woburn store. I need double prong curler clips but they only had the small ones so I asked the girl behind the desk if they’re out or don’t sell them. Now I’m her defense she was busy texting; however, being a customer she’s being paid to assist I asked her if they carry double prong clips. It’s not only what she said but how she said it. She was clearly annoyed, and huffed haughtily, as if by interrupting her texting I WAS RUDE! She had a look of such disdain and said: “We don’t carry those” I replied in a normal tone “too bad they hold so much better!” I wasn’t angry or upset… 20 year old associates don’t make Salon Centric's inventory decisions… As I walked away she added “NO ONE does curler sets any more!” HAHAHAHA! She was so being so obnoxious it was kinda funny. I went to the cosmetology school at my high school trade program and worked ever since in salon and as a session stylist and at photoshoots snd runway shows we use rollers and do iron sets all the time. I’ll eat the closest miss mouthy has been to professional work is seeing other stylist’s work on social media while standing behind that counter! I do still feel they deserve five stars. For 30 years I’ve been a customer at locations from Hyannis to Salem NH and this is the FIRST TIME I’ve been treated rudely. However, I do hope this was an anomaly and not a trend!
Just met LISA in the store in Malden SHE was AMAZING A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. POLITE AND SHE SPEAKS to u and at register not with a robot personality or attitude Was great experience for a change . Thank u Lisa.
The lady that’s there most of the time is so unbelievably rude and not helpful. I do not recommend this location to anyone. So unprofessional, rude, and overall bad attitude. Makes your experience very unpleasant.
This place never has gloves or products ... I wonder why... The manager is narcissistic personality disorder and the rest of the team are just lazy. If you want to work with messed up kids this is the perfect place!
