I have been coming here for a decade and a half. I can honestly say that I've never once had a bad experience here. The salespeople are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The guitar tech there , Austin, is also super knowledgeable about the workings of guitars and goes above and beyond. He does superb work and isn't afraid to share his knowledge with others. I love it here!

Popped into Sam Ash to have my daughters Viola tuned. They did it right there on the spot. My daughter was so happy. The last place we brought it didn't do a good job with its service. I will always bring our instruments to Sam Ash moving forward. Awesome place for your musical wants & needs.

Having issues w/my old acoustic/electric so I brought it down to have it looked at. Austin, the guitar tech, was AMAZING. He was extremely informative and helped me diagnose problem while also teaching me some other things. I bought a new guitar same day from this location because of the excellent service and friendly staff. HIghly recommend.

I brought in my Takamine Acoustic Guitar in for a repair and Sam Ash honored a 20 year-old Lifetime warranty. The current luthier, Austin, is GREAT. He fixed my nut and bridge, making the guitar in better shape than it was when I brought it in. The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5, is because I was also told that the warranty SHOULD have covered my repairs when I originally brought the guitar in for a repair 15 years ago, but was told back then that the repairs WEREN'T covered. The lack of repair for 15 years actually caused permanent damage to the guitar that is unrepairable. It is unfortunate, because if they had actually taken responsibility for the repair when I originally brought the guitar in, the damage would most likely not have been permanent.

Went to the New Haven store to have my new Les Paul set up by the guitar tech. Boy did I get more than I bargained for, he Austin was awesome. He is obviously well qualified. He went to school to become a luthier. He was so nice and informative. He walked me through all the steps and helped my better understand what/why he was doing everything. I really appreciated that. Everyone in the store was really nice and friendly. I will shop with Sam Ash as my go-to store going forward. Nothing but great experiences so far.

I really appreciate the knowledge and expertise of the Sam Ash personnel. I could do "trial by error" on Amazon et al but I would much rather go directly to a store and communicate with people who know more than I when it comes to music! The Sam Ash folks listen, engage and find the best equipment and supplies for the level of performer. It really is great to go to a local store. Thanks, Sam Ash! We will be back!

Brought a Roland 150w bass amp in for sale and was denied a bid because "it has carpet upholstery and no one will buy it because it's old" like i bought it myself ? And it took 25 minutes for paperwork to be processed on a pedal they bought from me, same process took less than 5 minutes for me at Orange GC. Never visiting Sam Ash again, Guitar Centers have historically treated me much better with instrument/gear trade-ins.

Their selection of drum equipment, especially cymbals, is meager, but the staff is always great. There's one guy in particular in drums that I love dealing with, and is one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back, despite the limited selection.

Went to SA to trade up some speakers. They were able to offer reasonable trade in for my speakers and get the speakers I wanted.

A friend who had just purchased a few hundred there went back with a question about a necessary piece required. This young man in the store responded with do your research. Well I was thinking of purchasing a guitar but not now ....Guitar Center was much more helpful and nicer...I will be sure to spread the word
