The people that work and devote their time to this Hospital should be commended for their commitment to the patients. They care for the patients personally and truly care for them and their spouses which I am, my wife and I live in California totally different world in this hospital. So much for our vacation but very happy we are here at this hospital to treat my wife's condition.
Nice looking building. Obviously a place for local homeless souls to get out of the cold. Front desk lady very courteous and efficient. Then after being checked in I was assigned an examination room where I had my vitals taken by a nursing assistant but then the waiting started. First I was told I couldn't be seen because the doctor was called home for a family emergency but not to worry because I would be seen next after the current patient. Well over an hour went by and I went into corridor and interrupted the conversation of 2 employees who obviously didn't have enough to do and was told the doctor would be right in. Another 45 minutes went by and I gave up and walked out. Two and a half hours was way too much time for me to invest any more of my time and patience. Never again!
good experience, I see all the negative reviews and can't help but think of the old hospital if you can call it that compared to this new one. For people to gripe is sickening to me. Newport is well known for it's population of those who think they are entitled to everything they think they ought to have. Good Lord, for once, be thankful that someone had the kindness to invest in this community and provide healthcare for you since you all do so little concerning your own.
Extremely slow. Takes hours to get labs done that other hospitals have done in 30 minutes. You can tell them you are in extreme pain and uncomfortable, they will still take anyone over the age of 40 back before you despite what’s wrong with them. They could seem to care less about you in all honesty. I watched two nurses have a 20 minute conversation while holding my discharge paperwork. It’s extremely frustrating they think that our time doesn’t matter.
Nutritionist Alicia Orton has literally changed my life for the better. I am positive that she has done the same for others. She makes living healthy manageable and realistic. If anyone needs help with there nutrition I strongly recommend Alicia.
If zero stars was an option that's what I would rate their ER. I had to call an ambulance at 5am due to a friend who was in so much pain and couldn't breathe, my friend suffers from stage 4 cirrhosis basically meaning he has constant fluid in his abdomen and NEEDED to be drained, well all they did was give him something that made him pee 2 liters and put an IV in. Other than that, they told him they weren't going to do anything. This is the 3rd time they have refused service.
I came by ambulance with a broken hip. The whole ER staff, Xray, and CT Scan staff were wonderful, very caring as well as competent.
this review is of my nurses Jeanie Linda and Gabby who were superb during my recent minor surgery top notch actual stars are 4.9 thank you ladies
My partner was taken to the ER two days ago after experiencing symptoms of cold skin with profuse sweating, gray/white skin color, intense chest pain, rapid pulse and low blood pressure after vigorous exercise. After taking first aid steps to lay him down, cover him up and elevate his feet his color started to return very slowly, we then took him to the hospital and they refused to allow me in with him even after we told them he is incoherent and confused. He is also autistic and I am his caretaker. They would not allow me because Dakota and myself had be diagnosed with covid 10 days prior. His mother was also not allowed because she drove us therefore was "exposed" even though we had both taken the paxlovid antivirals and had finished quarantine and we were wearing masks. He was left in the waiting room alone for over an hour, still in pain, experiencing other symptoms and scared. He had to repeat what he could vaugley remember to 5 different people. He was sent home after two tests, still in pain with out knowing what happened, if he'd see any side effects or if he needed to take any precautions . He is still experiencing symptoms and is still in pain with pressure in his chest, his heart rate spikes easily now and his resting heart rate has not returned to his normal either. His discharge papers said his diagnosis was covid and trouble breathing, and also stated that he was brought in due to a cough. He was not coughing and he was not struggling to breath, he was struggling to control his heart and he had intense chest pain around his heart. We were left in the dark to speculate and worry about his health. We are very disappointed with the lack of care shown towards his condition and the lack of communication, all in all its absolutely unacceptable and dangerous.
Non Transparent Billing. It is impossible to get someone on the phone that can answer basic questions about the bill it is clear that they use third party "Customer Service people and they couldn't transfer to anyone with any real information. Medical billing is a nightmare. Service and care were actually rather good so it's a shame that on the administrative side they fall down so hard.
