Great hotel, great rooms, and lobby, friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner are excellent, despite there is a specified range to select from, the quality is perfect. The lobby bar and restaurant are very cozy at night. It is not noisy despite the close airport location. Overall great value price/service - downtown outside peak hours is 25 minutes, so it is worth it.
Upon entering, this place was really nice! The service was great, and the breakfast food was also good. Our room door was cracked when first getting to it, but everything inside appeared to be okay. The air wouldn’t cool very well and there was definitely hair all around in the bathroom. The room was otherwise clean but my pillow didn’t smell the freshest. I was so exhausted as we had been on an 11 day road trip that we just wanted to lay down and rest!
This is a great hotel for travelers. Excellent and knowledgeable staff. Plenty of space to work in lobby.. and you should because the view is amazing. For those who want to get an outdoor workout in, there is a great path to run or walk. Visit Burlingame a 10 minute ride away for great food and shopping. Plus nice M lounge.Rooms: 4/5
Usual rate here is $250/night. When I booked, rates were high at $450. When I arrived, the entire parking lot was being worked on so the options were to park in the busy street or pull in to the far north end. I had a number of bags and expected there to be a bellhop -- one of the reasons one might pay more for a hotel. I was told that I was on my own for getting my bags to the front where the bellhop would take over. It would be one thing if this weren't a key reason I opted to pay a premium for this level of accommodation, it'd be reasonable had they noted online at booking that this would be the case, it might be understandable if they had an extra bellhop on hand to help. None of this was done. It would be reasonable if they weren't charging the full increased nightly rate as the nearby Weston or Hilton. Nope. They were so unconcerned that had I not mentioned anything, they'd have taken no action at all and are seemingly perfectly happy to sleep at night knowing they are charging folks premium rates none-the-less. They did drop my nightly rate to $299 -- still higher than their normal rate; but something. When in doubt, stay in the Westin or at the Hilton. And whatever you do, avoid the "restaurant" here whose fare was hit-or-miss on meeting the relatively low bar of edible.
Unfortunately I didn’t have a good start at the front desk. I requested early check-in so I arrived in the early AM just to find out if my room was ready. The person at the front desk, upon hearing I was trying to check in early, asked me if I wanted to move my check-in and check-out dates forward by a day. Of course I politely declined. Why would I do that? A bit baffled he even asked. He then said early check-in would incur a fee but immediately retracted that statement after I said I had never been asked to pay extra for early check-in, including all those years with Marriott. I then asked if I could wait in the lobby until my room was ready. He, possibly a bit embarrassed at the point, said he needed to check with Security. So off he went into the back office and then returned a few minutes later with a no, citing ‘security reasons’. I was too exhausted to argue after 3 legs of long flights so I thanked him and left. I returned hours later, worried I’d have similar issues again. But the shining star Brandon was there greeting me, immediately making me feel comfortable and restoring my confidence in this hotel. Check-in was a breeze and we even cracked a few jokes. Everything after that was just as smooth as it could be. So overall a good hotel with a great view. Just need to make sure new/inexperienced staff get the training and support they need.
Rooms are updated and shower is nice. Overall the property needs a refresher on the outside especially. Great spot before or after a flight. Great traveler hotel is you need to move along the Peninsula and Greater SF.
Great view of airplanes landing. Airbus A380, Boeing 737Max among a many more airplanes stopping by the Golden Gate Bridge city. The views are awesome but in think the ones coming from the third section are the best - room numbers in the X107 ish. For example 4th floor room 107 - 4107. If you are staying here at least have one meal in the restaurant which is a bit pricey but the views make you feel like a million dollars. Service is great and the rooms are updated. Lastly if you want to see a lively scene weekends are a bulls eye. Enjoy!
I was assigned to this hotel due to a canceled flight. The staff is nice, the food is tasty, however, the rooms are a misunderstanding. The hotel wants $15 for a day of internet for its guests in general, not just those with canceled flights, no free water in the room only a bottle for $8, impossible to turn off the air conditioning, long corridors, far to elevators. Not recommended.
Don’t stay here the staff will steal anything you forget and then deny it and avoid your calls to report an item missing. I don’t usually write reviews but this has been a very frustrating situation and the way they handle it has been less than professional. Marriott if you are willing to help I’d be willing to edit this review. We have picture proof of our items being left in the room on accident. Also the shuttle is unreliable and we had to order an Uber after the shuttle was 20 min late.
