Great place to fish and launch kayaks and flat boats. Regular boats I believe should do more research especially at low tide. Low spots all over this area and also deep spots. At high tide water is clear. Very strong currents not safe to swim. Safety: Safe place to park , but not a safe place to swim.
Great place to take the boat & catch fish! Bathrooms & showers are always clean & in good working order, staff are very courtious & efficient. This park is very secure, gated & has surveillance. We went for the Fourth of July & there were fireworks EVERYWHERE! We all had a great time & will be going back.
Absolutely love it here. Perfect for the whole family to spend time together and go fishing. Always clean. Very friendly staff. They are always looking for new ways to make sure all of the guest are happy and well taken care of.Rooms: 5/5
Took a short drive from Surfside. Easy to find, easy free parking on a Monday. Boat ramp and great area at office with picnic tables and restrooms. I did not go into rv area. Walked thru the covered pavilion, clean, spacious. I took my wagon filled beach stuff down to the water. Path marked and easy to follow. I found out too late that you cannot enter the water along the channel due to strong currents. I was going to launch my kayak from the beach and head into the paddle trail. I was told better to launch from the boat ramp. I did not see any Park wardens. I did go in up to my ankles to cool off, but heeded the warnings. Beach and grounds super clean. Great view of San Luis Pass bridge. I was all by myself except for 3 fishermen down the beach. Lots of birds, fish jumping and crabs. Signs warning about poisonous snakes but saw none. On my way back, after about 7 hrs in the heat, I decided to take a different path back. It was more difficult to navigate with my wagon and park employee Jay saw me in the heat and came with the golf cart and helped me back to the car! So very nice of him. He also showed me the interiors of the 2 cabins when I expressed interest. One is for up to 5 people and the other for up to 12. They looked well kept and are open year round. Great amenities and will be back to rent a cabin.
Great place to fish. Just be careful were you drive loose sand and were you swim strong current. Only fish here so can't comment on rooms or services.Location: 4/5
Fish weren't biting. Caught a few catfish and black drum. Place was really clean and recent rain had all the soft sand packed.Location: 5/5
Great location and nice, clean facilities. All staff were super friendly and helpful. We’ll be back Service: 5/5
Beautiful as always. Quiet, peaceful place to relax as long as you stay out of the dangerous waters. Could benefit from a restroom.Location: 5/5
Didn’t plan on staying so long! We had planned on fishing the entire Texas coast but are enjoying ourselves too much to leave! Someone at the last RV park we stayed at recommended we park on the beach here. We saw the park and popped in and fell in love! Everything we could want is in or near the park. Nice docks to tie up our boat at, long pull through spots. Well lit for night fishing. Quiet, clean & secure. The staff is extremely kind and helpful — literally making you feel like you ran into a long lost friend! We plan on coming back MANY more times!
Great place to camp and fish. Been coming here for many years
