This is my new getaway destination. The suite was charming, spacious and very clean. I had a relaxing bubble bath in a vintage tub which was awesome! I slept on my patio most nights because that breeze is AMAZING! Met the owner who is lovely and attentive to his guests. I need an excuse to come back to Sandaway as soon as possible!!! 100/10 would recommend if you want the views of Ocean City without the super long drive and tourism congestion. Very quiet and peaceful!
What a beautiful peaceful place! The rooms are large and spotless , Thank you, Mary in housekeeping , the owner responsive. The views are incredible.Wonderful location ! Friendly locals. If you are looking to have a tranquil place to rejuvenate , this is it. Conveniently near Easton and St Michael's to explore as well. Small area of beach to launch a kayak or Paddleboard. love the Adirondack chairs on the beautiful lawn.
My husband and ai had a lovely weekend at the Sandaway. Staff was very kind and attentive. Upon our arrival, owner Wendy Gibson was making a video for a late arrival to help locate their cabin after dark. The views of the river are very serene. You feel an immediate release of tension. Welcome tote of snacks was a nice touch. Walkability: Enjoy a stroll along the picturesque streets. This must be the picket fence capital of Maryland. Very charming. Food & drinks: Located near restaurants, great ice cream, and water activities
My husband and I spent two nights at the Sandaways Suites and Beach in Oxford Maryland. I booked the Tuckaway cottage JR Suite through Ben Gibson through telephone. Ben is the Inn keeper. I was very impressed by Ben who answered a few questions of mine about various resturants in the area. Also after hearing about some mobility issues I had suggested the Tuckaway cottage inn seeing it was on ground level and I wouldn't have any stairs to climb. I also was given a senior discount along with a special weekly rate which was a special feature which was running the week we were visiting. My husband and I were ending a vacation in Terre Hill PA so on the arrival date we were a little early coming in. Mr. Ken Gibson the owner greeted us in the parking lot and showed us exactly what suite we'd be staying at. A beautiful beachy willow tree was outside the door and Mr. Gibson showed us it and said feel free to explore the grounds before check in time. The place is beautiful. The beach is only a short walk from the Inn and has comfortable chairs tables and lounge chairs. I enjoyed shelling shell finding and found some beach glass to bring home. We enjoyed the solitude and the peace and quiet watching the sail boats with binaculars provided in the room A welcome package was provided on the door when we checked into the tuckaway suite. How wonderful! History about the Sandaway Suites and beach along with information and a website that has tons of places and points of interest. Some snacks coffee creamers etc. I loved the bag which is a nice souvenir. Our suite was spotless air conditioning and dehumidifier kept us stay cool the bed was extra comfortable and the tub was a luxury. I throughly enjoyed the bubble bath. It also has a mini fridge and a microwave. Getting in touch with the Gibsons is done through the site they give you. It's easy and efficient. You will be a prompt reply back. The Gibson's are hospitable and strive to take care of the guests. The property makes you feel like you are staying at a resort. Oxford is close enough to walk to and it's a lovely peaceful quaint town. A ferry is a few minutes from the property and will take you to St. Michaels. Wed definitely will be back next year for a return longer vacation. Thank you to the Gibson family. We throughly enjoyed the Sandaway Suites and Beach
Sandaway has the best location in Oxford, MD! Views of the Bay and the boats right out our suite window. our king room was very comfortable and clean. we could bike and walk to everything in town.Rooms: 3/5
Exceptionally clean and comfortable room! This felt much nicer than a typical 3 star hotel. The jr suite was very private and provided everything needed for the weekend. Safe and walkable area.Rooms: 5/5
My wife and I had a very comfortable stay at The Sandaway. It is an older building, but well maintained. Everything worked. Our room was comfortable. The atmospherics of an older time were very nice. The location at water's edge was great, with wonderful views and nice sunrises and sunsets. The management is super responsive.Rooms: 4/5
Oxford is a hidden gem. We loved our time at the Sandaway; the view is amazing and the room was both elegant and comfortable. We were on a day trip interrupted by car trouble and could not be more grateful to have found this place. Sometimes, near is even better than far.
An absotively lovely, peaceful place. We had an upper-level room, a screened porch, with a view of the Chesapeake Bay. Planning a return visit. The restaurants were walking distance and very nice!
We wanted a quiet getaway, and travelled to Oxford, MD. from Toms River, NJ. It's a quiet town the week after Memorial Day, with several restaurants to dine/cocktails. The Inn was everything we expected, and more. Every room has all the amenities you would find in a 4 star hotel--even binoculars. Rooms are very clean, and Wendy and Ben, the Innkeeper, go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. If you like, a breakfast basket with goodies is delivered to your door in the morning. The view from the Adirondack chairs on the lawn facing the water is great, sunset was fabulous. There is a little boathouse to use, with large couches, and more snacks. Very relaxing. We stayed in Rm. 104, which is upstairs with a view of the water in the bay window. We will return next year, only to stay longer.
