A traumatic accident had happened and the police officers were very caring and supportive. They went the extra mile get my personal belongings and close my garage door. I was an emotional wreck and one of the officers stood by my side and had their hand on my shoulders. A personal Thank you to the police department and all that they do!
I was harassed by three Santa Rosa police officers during an unlawful stop on the night of 4/20/22 between the hours of 10PM and 11PM. I was legally parked with the ignition off. First I was given unlawful demands to move my car and upon declining was taken out of the car, patted down, and sobriety tested against my will even though I verbally requested a breathalyzer test as I have a right to do. They knew I was not under the influence and that I violated no laws. I have respect for officers as my father was one, but harassing law-abiding citizens when departments get bored is not a way to serve your community, and is unlawful. My rights were violated, no probable cause could be articulated, and after being held captive for nearly 20 minutes they decided to leave. What I witnessed last night was more like gang activity than honorable police work. This demonstrates just how important it is to know your rights! From now on I will be recording video upon being stopped by any officers, and having to have it actually come to that is deeply saddening.
I just saw a video where the police just tried to intimidate a photographer who was in 'their' parking lot. They obviously knew he had a lawful right to be there but still decided to try and bully him off the taxpayers property. Hell even the Lt was there. I counted 8 officers. For gods sake start serving the public instead of trying to be above what you really are.....public servants. I'm an ex-cop overseas and what is saw was disgraceful behaviour by law enforcement.
There officers need to be taught how to go help other departments out. Over 200 miles from there station in redding heading north on I5 going code with all there lights on. They were no where near there station cars were swerving go get out of the way. Chp has proven having g front lights on causes more accidents there was no emergency.
30 minutes into a car sideshow and multiple calls, the SRPD can’t handle getting a grip on stopping this insane sideshow. Angering law abiding citizen and keeping hard working people awake late at night. Started at about 11:15pm and I can still hear it at 11:45pm. You should be ashamed.
If you ever come into contact with the SRPD Turn the video camera on your phone so you can record them as they violate your rights. They think they wear a badge and they can do whatever they want. All it takes is one video to force an officers termination. F-The Police.
I don't where they find some these people who work them but it's clear they don't pass psychological exam, are uncontrollably violent and should not have access to firearms because not only do they once they have a suspect in custody who surrendered without issue, they put guns at innocent people. They hold innocent people who have never broke the law in handcuffs, hold kids away from their parents nor the have did anything at gun point all in their own home without warrants. I'm not saying all of them because it's not but there are few very unstable people with badges and guns
I do not typically write reviews, but I thought this deserved a review. My mom has dementia, and she was upset and took off alone. I was told she went missing, and started driving all over trying to find her. I recieved a call from an officer at SRPD saying she had been brought in by a good samaritan. The officer was compassionate, even though it was a difficult situation to handle. My mom was telling a lot of wild stories and was very agitated, but the officer was kind and understanding. I was a mess, and his kindness was greatly appreciated.
When my car was stolen it was located by an officer an hour later. My vehicle was stolen in the morning when I was about to move into a new home. It was found behind an apartment on Occidental Rd. Thank you for the officer who tracked it down. The sad part was that there were finger prints on the outside and inside of my vehicle new sunglasses that were never worn were decorated with prints. I suggested taking my glasses or tagging finger prints outside the car because they were so fresh and the officer declined saying rain damaged them. It just started sprinkling upon recovering the vehicle. On top of that my glasses were never taken out of evidence to be examined. It only took me 2 years to pay off that smashed window and to restore all my lost belongings. Being the son of a parent who's dedicated 30 years of their lives to law enforcement it's sad to see the effort that paperwork is pushed aside. On top of that their computer doesn't even work when I need to report a hit and run for a roommate. Well done.
Your entire Police department begins with the female officer who had an interaction with an Auditor exercising his constitutional right of free speech. Your entire Police department resembles that mob that tried to over take our government on Jan 6th, it would not surprise me that your entire police department are members of the Oath Keepers or the 3% presenters, Proud Boys...Shame on you Santa Rosa
