It's just a few minutes' drive to restaurants, shops and several championship golf courses. Historic Charleston, only an hour away, was named the World's Top City for 2016 by Travel + Leisure. Enjoy the city's distinctive architecture, Civil War sites and lovely plantation homes and gardens. The area is beautiful and the relaxing, that being said, there is some road noise. There are several bathhouses on property and we were at G facility, although spacious and bright the water pressure was a bit lacking. They have an oversized chess board a pool and mini golf, should you get the chance to stay here. The staff were very nice, professional and helpful. The owners are doing some renovations so look for coming improvements.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay, didn't have any interaction with any staff, so can't rate that. Sites are very close together and if you arrive after dark watch out for stumps. I tripped over this one walking to the camper door. Bath houses was fairly clean.
Very friendly staff and beautiful view, and the site was clean. Loop A was uneven and power pole was way at the front of the campsite, making it very difficult to set up for the quick night we were there. For a KOA Journey, we typically expect easy in and out without much need for maneuvering. Some campsites were very wide, while others were overly narrow. 2.5 stars
Friendly and helpful staff. We were escorted to our site by a staff member. Pull through site was pretty level and the lake was within view fewer campers in late Oct. It is right off of the interstate which made for ease of pass-through overnight stay. Would recommend for RVers in transit.
Campground setting is very pretty but our site was way overpriced. $71.19 for an overnight stay which didn't even include sewer. Site was not level but since we arrived late and planned on leaving very early in the morning we just lived with it. All in all not the greatest value for the money spent.
Just a great experience. Easily the most wooded of the Koas the family visited. Owners were cool. Facilities were older , but just as clean and functional. Listening to acorns falling down in the night on our camper made me smile knowing we were having a real wooded experience. But then, because South Carolina, palm trees. Wife and I went for a walk. Checked out the beach area and the dock at night. Looked up and saw a then a and well, that's the SC licence plate, so I kissed the wife under that crescent moon and under palm tree. Good luck right? There is also a pizza joint on site and you get gold kart deliver to your site! Haha! Amazing. Wonderful experience. Thank You!
My wife and I stop here on our way home from Pennsylvania this has got to be one of the best rv campgrounds that o have been to the views on the lake were amazing and the sunset was to die for. The sell pizza although I did t get a chance to try it cause we ordered to late but heard it was excellent They have propane dog park, walking trail, and a little fishing pond and Plenty of room in between RV’s so your not on top of each other if you are in or passing this RV camp ground stop I. You won’t be disappointed
We would definitely come back here!! Lots of shade, large sites, things to do onsite. But some spots are a bit slanted, and this campground is right off the highway so you can hear road noise but it's not too bad. Being right off the interstate is really convenient though. There is a pizza rest insite and The Lake House rest next door...sort of, that's right on the lake.
We really liked this campground located minutes away from the interstate. We had a great view of the lake. The sites had trees, but some retired blocks to level rvs. There are nice amenities like a beach and a fishing pier. There is some highway noise, but not very noticeable inside. Food & drinks: They serve wings and pizza. There is a restaurant nearby. Dog-friendliness: There dogs loved walking around the property keeping an eye out for squirrels.
Easy off I95, very relaxing atmosphere at this campground, we had a pullthru site and it was plenty long for our rig and tow car. Right on a big lake, beautiful place. You can have fresh pizza made onsite!
