We had our department retreat at SVL and it was AMAZING. Everyone absolutely loved it and did not want to leave. Beautiful views with "garage door walls" that open up in the living room and kitchen to make it feel SO open and airy. Everyone said it was the best sleep they had had in years. We had a great experience with the hosts - no issues at all! We would love to come back again! What a dream home.
We got married at Scholls Valley Lodge on July 15, 2023 and it was everything we ever dreamed of. There are so many perks to this venue that more people should know about! 1. Emily, who was our main contact, was very responsive with our emails and questions when it came down to ensuring we had everything we needed for our big day. 2. This venue is a minimum 3 day weekend stay which means you’ll get it the day before your wedding and also after. This was such a huge relief for us because this meant that we didn’t have to stress about finding a place to host our rehearsal dinner as we could have it on site at the venue. We were also able to lodge our close friends for the weekend and were able to spend quality time with them before and after the wedding events. It takes away another stress of finding a place to get ready day of. It was nice to also just be able to walk back to the venue after a long wedding day and be able to unwind. 3. The venue gives you freedom in picking your vendors. I hated that some of the other venues we looked at required you to hire their day of coordinator, hire their caterers, etc. SVL does not do this which as a type A bride I completely appreciate. 4. They have their own parking lot!!! This was HUGE win for us. We had a 100 guest count it can accommodate larger weddings than this too and all our guests were able to park on site! We didn’t need to hire a shuttle like other venues around the PNW require or limit our guest count to accommodate for parking. We also hired 2 of their parking attendants to help ease the process during our day, which again is so convenient. 5. They will also have an option for you to hire a couple of their people to help set up your chairs, move them from ceremony to reception, etc. This was so helpful as you cannot expect your wedding planner or your guests to do this job alone. 6. THE VIEWS!! This lodge is a private property with the most stunning views. The flowers in bloom during the spring and summer also add such an elegant look to our wedding and look beautiful in photographs. 7. The lodge itself was so cozy, roomy, and clean. 8. The barn is shaded and is the perfect spot for a reception on a hot summer day. 9. There are multiple areas on site to have your wedding reception depending on what your vibe is. We chose to get married under the large oak tree. I cannot praise SVL enough! They are definitely worth the investment and we are so happy we chose them to host the best weekend of our lives.
My wife Caroline and I got married at Scholl's Valley Lodge on July 3rd, 2023, and could not have asked for a better venue to host our wedding. IT IS A PERFECT EVENT SPACE. The Lodge is one of the best hosting spaces that I've ever seen, complete with massive living room space, couches, an incredible island in the kitchen, a beautiful back porch with floor to ceiling garage door windows that open to it, and lots of overflow space on the outdoor patio and lawn. And of course, not only does SVL offer the Lodge, but they have a beautiful, well-kept lawn where we had our ceremony, and a lovely barn/pavilion reception space, and it's all right in the same little property. It's absolutely perfect for a wedding of 80-175 people Ours was ~140. SVL also offers an additional "bunkhouse" space on the property that is rentable as an AirBnb, which was perfect for our bachelor guests, and 8 of them shared the 10-bed space at an unbeatable price. We had our wedding on a Monday, and also were able to book SVL overnight on Sunday night, and that was an absolute lifesaver. Not only did we get to start on our setup the night before, but knocked out our rehearsal, and then we had about half of our guests over that night for a party, and were able to spend valuable social time with them outside of the chaos of wedding day. ALSO! On our wedding day, the high was 87 degrees, and we were anticipating being VERY hot, but even in my black tuxedo, I was not sweating until the dancing started in the evening. Both us and our guests were just fine in the heat thank you PNW for having very low humidity. We drank lots of water and it was a beautiful sunny day, complete with views of Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens from the venue, which was absolutely incredible. Our experience with the SVL team was very positive, though I will say that this venue is definitely not an all-inclusive type of venue, our wedding was very DIY and I think it is best for couples that intend to have a very DIY wedding. The staff answered all of our questions, but were hard to reach at times and definitely not as responsive as a wedding planner would be, so bear in mind that they're there as property managers and not as your personal wedding planner/coordinator. All in all, I can't say enough positive things about SVL. If you can pull off getting married on a weekday, the $5000 price tag is much cheaper than the full weekend option, and that worked really well for us. SVL is awesome, and I'd commend it without hesitation to any couple that wants to get married here during the warmer months of the year!
We were married at Scholl's Valley Lodge on June 10th, 2023, and could not have asked for a more perfect venue. We were able to host our rehearsal dinner Friday night and invited our bridal party to stay at the lodge with us for the weekend. Having the space Friday-Sunday allowed us to slow down and really take in the weekend with our favorite people rather than sweating through the logistics of moving space to space for different events. We also had plenty of time to do most of the set up and decorating Friday night which made Saturday morning so easy and fun. Everything was beautiful. Emily was friendly and very easy to communicate with throughout the wedding planning process. We had the flexibility to bring in our own vendors, but the venue also provided us with a list of great vendors who have worked there before.
Had our wedding at Scholls Valley Lodge in October and it was a fantastic weekend. The lodge was big enough to host our entire wedding party for the weekend and there was always enough room to spread out. The unseasonably warm weather let us have the ceremony outside on the patio and the reception under the covered pavilion. There was also plenty of room inside the lodge to host breakfast for the wedding party and family the day after. The staff was great during the entire planning process and very quick to respond to questions. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the Lodge was and how perfect it was for a weekend of celebrating with our loved ones. So many of my friends have asked if we’re going to do an anniversary party just so we can go back next year. I would not hesitate to have another event there and recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a flexible and beautiful space for a wedding, family reunion, or retreat.
Scholls Valley Lodge is one of those places that you fall in love with immediately. We looked at a lot of venues for a long time and this spot was perfect. The vineyards, barn, lodge, big trees, and farm land make this just a gorgeous rustic wedding location. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and the views were unbeatable - everyone highly enjoyed the venue along with perfect fall weather. SVL is a vacation rental so when you're there you have the entire venue to yourself and while they have preferred caterers and other vendors you can use whoever you'd like. We primarily worked with Emily and she was always friendly and helpful. One thing to keep in mind before you book is that they are extremely particular with their contract, along with noise ordinances no noise after 10pm. Emily and I had several chats about adding things to our contract for some flexibility and she was excellent at communicating with me. I would highly recommend Scholls Valley for any event- just be aware that if you are renting for just one day or one day + an overnight that vendor arrival times and things are different if you aren't renting the lodge for the whole weekend - make sure to just be open and communicate so you're all on the same page about your contract.
Fantastic affordable place with great views and space to do whatever you want. We loved how we could bring in our own vendors.
Scholls Valley Lodge is such a beautiful and versatile venue!! When my husband and I saw the property for the first time, we knew that it was the perfect location for our wedding. Emily was easy to communicate with and the staff was so kind! We booked the lodge for the weekend and we were able to host rehearsal dinner the night before, our tea ceremony in the lodge the morning of the wedding, our afternoon wedding ceremony on the lawn and our evening reception in the barn. The views from the venue were so beautiful. It was nice to spend time with our wedding party and family all weekend long without having to travel to different locations. My only wish was that we could have danced all night long in the barn, but we were able to spend the rest of the late night in the lodge with our guests. Highly recommend this venue!! Thank you Scholls Valley Lodge for such an amazing weekend!! Photo credit: Analy Photo
We had our wedding at Scholls Valley Lodge in April and it was wonderful! The property is gorgeous with awesome views and backdrops. There are great flexible indoor/outdoor/covered space options that you can use for the whole weekend. This is useful for unpredictable weather and for hosting a welcome dinner without reserving another space. We used the living room/porch for our ceremony it fit almost 100 people! and our welcome dinner, barn for the reception, and patios/lawns for mingling and lawn games. We also loved that there were rooms for us and the bridal party to stay at the venue - it was a great way to have a lot of quality time with people and not have to rush in or out. It’s also close to Portland but feels remote/surrounded by nature. It was easy to get to but gave us the feeling of being away from everything.
Such a beautiful and lovely venue, with wonderful views and gorgeous vineyard! There is so much space where you can make great photos. The outdoor pavilion with a cover is good choice for weddings. It was a pleasure to work here.
