Horrible leadership. Staff get angry when parents call to voice their frustrations and problems. Buildings in horrible conditions with inadequate HVAC, mold, asbestos, etc. They have run out of lunch for the kids. They just slap a band-aid on things, never fixing actual issues. The previous superintendent spent around $400,000 to update their office while staff and students sit in horrible, decrepit buildings.
I’ve been calling the school district a Philadelphia and I also visit because I’ve been needing to speak to someone about getting my grandson. A educational assessment. The voicemail is full. You can never speak to anyone in person and when you try to call over the phone it’s always busy my taxpayer dollars are going to help the children a Philadelphia and you can’t get anyone on the phone or in person to help the children. I have spoken to several parents who have complained about the same issue. This is unacceptable and I will be contacting the news about the situation. I think the Philadelphia school district need to reevaluate their employees and change some things and how they get back with parents who need help for their children and educational assessment should not be taking me almost 5 months to get for my kid. this is totally unacceptable and I’m not happy.
Staff from payroll and the Union rep attitudes is atrocious!! Their hours from 9-4 and barely answer people phone calls between them, sometimes they'll pick up the phone just to hang up. I've been working as a general cleaner for 2 years and it's the worse. I'm definitely considering going back to do security because dealing with these people is like dealing with Welfare office workers ‍
I using don’t write reviews but I feel like I have to when it comes to the PSD . PSD are failing these kids. I went to the main office to request a school change because my kids don’t feel safe with going to their neighborhood school. So basically your child has to experience a tragic at the school in order to request a transfer smh .. I thought the whole point was to prevent that from happening … Iam so upset and disappointed with the way they have these rules etc …. Don’t get me wrong the workers there will try and help but there is so much they can do they don’t make the Rules I guess … As September is approaching my anxiety is super high Iam just praying for my children and everyone else children as well for safety and protection from any harm. I honestly think the students should really be able to choose a school of there choice ..
J Hampton Moore school grounds look deplorable. I know it's summer vacation, but in a short while you won't be able to see the property through all the weeds on the sidewalk and school grounds. Can you call CLIP on a city owned property? It's a disgrace. The city is quick to respond if a private home's lawn needs attention.
U guys need to improvise the rules on not cheering or dancing for their diplomas, that they work hard for. And u make it so they can't cheer, bc of one autistic adult at a school, that the crowd there didn't cheer on, bc they were asked not to, so he cld walk up on the stage. And they did it bc they knew him. It was awesome. But what yr doing here, isnt. These r not autistic adults here in these ceremonies. They're normal adults graduating. And no disabled adults were graduating to need that rule in place. Yr treating them as tho there r disabled adults needing this. That's where the idea came from. And u just take it and run. U need to improvise it where, when the disabled adults r there, then u act upon that. I watched the video of the school that happened at. U don't run with the idea when it's not the same circumstance. No. That was a different circumstance. And the whole crowd knew abt it and loved it. U guys need to improvise this. I was proud of the gal walking on stage. U shld've been too. It looks like u guys r hating on yr ppl. It looks like u want to enialate her. It looks rlly bad, if I were The Principal, I would be changing it, knowing it's not working. If there is someone in the crowd, necessarily, who is disabled and needs that silence, that's one thing. But not for the normal ppl graduating. They can handle life. Improvise this rule made for the disabled, bc it's not rt using it with normal ppl. It's not the same circumstance as the other disabled adult at the other school graduating. The graduates at this school r rt. They r. If I were The President at this school, I wldve let it slide. U gotta know when to let things go. I wld not be surprised if this school got sued. These situations r not the same. The graduates wld win.
You should be disgusted in the way you treated that girl. What is the point of living if you can not take joy in your achievements? That poor girl was simply expressing the joy she felt in achieving her diploma. Would you prefer that students refused too come on stage because they were too embarrassed to obtain their diploma from a school that does not allow joy and happiness . Your school is pathetic. I suggest you make a public apology to that girl
I went her to get my kids records and transfer documents. Everyone was very, warm. Welcoming and informative. I Was out, in. A quick timeframe.
At least give the students a option to go virtual.
My son was told by a student that he would get him shot. Another student also used the same language over a Instagram Live. From what I’m told there’s nothing the @Philadelphia Police Department will do about such language. The staff and teachers are well aware of these bad apple students since I’ve been told several times these students have been together since the 6th grade. It’s like their threatening and ill mannered ways are being tolerated instead of eradicated. Due to this circumstance…I don’t believe the children are in a safe environment. It seems the Philadelphia School District isn’t doing their part to ensure the safety of our children.
