The Scranton Karate School was established in 1961 by Grandmaster Frank Trojanowicz who is widely known as a pioneer and promoter of Korean Karate in the Northeast. Many of todays American martial art instructors, and those of Korean ancestry, owe their start in Tang Soo Do here in North America to Grandmaster Trojanowicz. Long before Kung Fu, Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris became famous, Master Trojanowicz was training and teaching Tang Soo Do. He has introduced and sponsored many of todays Korean Martial Art teachers, and been in part responsible for the establishment and chartering of other successful martial art organizations.
