Rooms are clean, beds comfy, decent towels for a change.. Our house phone was disconnected from the wall so not working when we wanted to call the front desk. Since this Inn is close to water, Rooms have no a/c I get it but, they need a fan to move the air the room was stuffy and did not cool down enough to sleep comfortably. There is a small window you could open but the screen was missing. The cords for both in room window and bathroom window are broken. I told all this to front desk but they didn't seem surprised. What they should say is, "thanks ill pass it along to a Manager " So if you're going to stay here, avoid room 121 and bring a good fan!!!
Stayed one night in the deluxe suite. They charge $20 per dog per night for dogs under 25lbs. Nice grounds, updated decorations. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Drive right up to the door. Some items are dated. Outdoor community fire pit. Would stay again in the future. Some units are separate and have their own picnic tables. I have stayed in the area before in years past. Nice quite area of Pacifica with plenty of restaurants a short drive away.
The reviews for this place were good so I was confident when I booked a weekend stay. Oh, how terribly wrong I was the room is absolutely tiny and very very basic - see my video - the bathroom has no place at all for your toiletries. You literally have to put your toiletries on top of the toilet seat!! I brought this to the attention of the manager and his response was “well, the room is what it is and you paid for it so that’s it”. I asked for a discount/ refund and he gently smiled with a little laugh. I asked him if it was reasonable to expect a shelf in the bathroom to put your towel your toiletries and he said “well the room is what it is and you paid for it”. Yes I did pay for it, a whopping $250 a night, but I guess that doesn’t get you anywhere to put your toiletries in the bathroom!! Let’s see what the public think about this. There are zero amenities at this establishment and there is zero customer care. My advice is to pick one of the other nearby motels/ hotels, that’s what I will do next time.
5/5. best place i have ever stayed better than my own home lol amazing service and nice space for 1-4 people, restraints nearby as well as a beach. beds are comfy and some of the rooms have a whole bathroom+kitchen. would recommend for family vacation. Food & drinks: its about 50 feet walking distance from a hotdog reteraunt
Rooms seem a bit thread bare, but everything is functional and has a good general appearance. Location is quiet and lightly traveled. Internet is plenty good for work or play. Good experience will stay there again.Rooms: 4/5
What is up with the overpowering smell of cleaner?! Gross. It was so overpowering. Had to open all the windows. Most things are old. Housekeeping doesn’t clean corners. I wasn’t expecting anything fabulous but this place can do better. Not sure why some people love it so much. Oh yeah, and the neighbor might as well just come into my room. I can hear everything. I really wanted to like this place. On the outside it’s cute and in a great location. I describe places like this as slapping lipstick on a pig.
We stayed in a cabin with a kitchenette. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was great to have a kitchenette as there are no breakfast restaurants in the area. We have two minor complaints, the reason for a four-star rating on the cabin. It was getting a bit rough around the edges and the pillows were a bit thin. That said it was very apparent that the new owners were refurbishing the place inside and out. All the staff people we delt with were very friendly and helpful. We will stay likely there next time we come to Pacific Grove. We love staying as far away from Cannery Row as possible. There is a beautiful shoreline just down the hill, along with a lighthouse museum.
I came here for a writing retreat and chose this room because of the location, and because it had a table where I could work. But the table turned out to be small and rickety and the small hard chairs were very uncomfortable. Ok for sitting to have a snack but not for hours of writing. After spending one night and one full day trying to make it work, I decided to find a hotel with with a real desk. I had reserved five nights at the Sea Breeze, but stayed only one. I respectfully requested a refund for only three nights, which I thought was fair. After giving me a runaround, the management refused to give me any refund whatsoever. I gave them plenty of notice and did not ask for much. So I consider their decision an unscrupulous ripoff. A friend of mine staying at the same time in another room was similarly disappointed with the accommodations here. The room had some nice tile work, but was cheaply furnished overall. One awkwardly placed dilapidated barrel chair looked like it had come from IKEA — or a yard sale. There was a poster on the wall in a sagging cheap plastic frame. There were scuff marks and hand prints on the walls. A stained dishrag hung from one of the kitchen cabinet doors. The night stand was made of shabby worn particle board with holes in the finish, and the TV remote didn’t work: only one channel played. The storage cabinets for clothing — there was no closet or dresser — would not open all the way because an ironing board was hung right in front of them. The dishwasher had dents in it — as if someone had hit it repeatedly with a chair — and the top of the toilet seat was partially melted. It looked as if someone had left a hot curling iron on it. In my experience, it just a place to crash. If you want more than that, then go somewhere else.
Currently staying here and majorly regret choosing the Sea Breeze. I’m unable to sleep at almost 1am bc our neighbors have a bunch of people in their room laughing and talking, then step outside of their room and make a bunch of noise. The rooms need to be updated with cracked tiles and dents/scratches on the walls. The shower doesn’t even have a plastic liner, just a cotton one that I’m sure is filthy. Super uncomfortable beds and pillows, and one of our beds made terrible noises anytime someone slightly moved in bed. The rooms also get ridiculously hot. *Update: it’s now 4:15 and our neighbors are still yelling and laughing, and sounds like moving furniture and dropping things. Even with ear plugs can’t sleep. I’ve called to file 2 noise complaints that the police haven’t responded to.
We checked in late and they had our keys in a lock box and had emailed us the wifi password and all info. Room was very clean and beautiful. Lots of space. Beautiful property with lots of trees and landscaping. We will definitely stay here again.
