It's a beautiful park and offers much to its visitors. However, there are only a few places in the park where people can use grills to cook and eat. Other than that, we really enjoyed the park. The trail that goes around the lake is great. The trail is well marked; and, the rating of moderate difficulty is accurate. I'm looking forward to visiting the park again in the near future. Restrooms: The restrooms are clean and well stocked. Picnic area: The grills are easily accessible. There are plenty of tables. The picnic area we utilized was very serene, close enough to the car that it wasn't burdensome to cart our supplies from the car to our selected table. And, the grills and table were well spaced out so visitors do not have to be right on top of each other.
Seneca Creek State Park is a picturesque natural setting known for its serene landscapes and is famous as one of the filming locations for The Blair Witch Project. With its lush forests, a tranquil lake, and well-maintained trails, it's a wonderful destination for hiking, picnicking, and wildlife enthusiasts.
The park is absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. We rented the BlueJay pavilion for a family reunion, and it was more than enough space for us all. Bugs were not biting. I enjoyed myself this reunion, and the nice... outdoor venue was a big part of that good feeling. Restrooms: Clean and equipped with toilet paper and soap. Picnic area: Nice and clean.
A well maintained state park. Alongside the Potomac River in southern Maryland, has a very convenient boat ramp as well as very generous accommodations for parking vehicles with boat trailers. A small general store is available for those supplies that tend to be forgotten. For being a small store, it is incredibly well stocked for supplies needed for fishing fresh bait, picnics paper plates, forks, and so on as well as breakfast to go! As for some casual fishing, there is space along the pier just for fishing. So you don’t have to have a boat to fish. Just remember, you might have that fishing license handy if you're required to have one, right! Restrooms are of course available. And they are clean. There are trails to walk on,. The only wish I had was it would have been great if there had been horses for riding. But otherwise, a really nice park to take the family to. Or even to take yourself to walk around, relax, and smell the rosesfiguratively
Seneca State Park renews me inside out. God’s beauty right within reach from the busy DMV city. I often visit with my family. Our 5yo son rocks the 3.5mile trail/hike every time. Highly recommended to all hiking enthusiasts or just folks looking for a quick getaway. Playground: Didn’t visit yet. But the kids look extremely pleased playing there. Restrooms: Many sprinkled across the Park. Dog-friendliness: Saw folks with their dogs. Looks pretty dog-friendly Picnic area: Serenity at its best. You won’t feel crowded at all. Just remember to please leave ground with every trash :
Well maintained state park at the heart of Gaithersburg. The trail around the lake is about 3.7 miles takes 1.5-2hrs. on average to complete. The entrance fee is $3 per person if you’re MD resident. Plenty parking spots are scattered throughout this park. Saw many people fishing. Swimming is not allowed. As a precautionary measure, pets and children are prohibited to enter the lake due to harmful algae/pollution.
Beautiful park with plenty of walking trails,or biking. Has lots of picnic areas. Spots for the kids to play. It has strategically placed restrooms. The view of the lake is soul soothing . Playground: Nice playgrounds . Restrooms: Seen at least two. Dog-friendliness: Seen plenty of people walking around with their pets. Picnic area: Picnic area's a plenty with grills.
I take my dog to Seneca a few times a week. Its a great place to walk trails or relax at one of the picnic areas.
Very beautiful state park with plenty of places to sit and have your own picnic or bbq. There aee many trails and places to walk around. If you cime early enough, you will be able to join the water activities. Even if you don't, there are plenty of wildlife tp explore from owls, turtles, fish, birds, ect.
Large park, with trails along the water, many benches and picnic spots. Closes 7:15 at night, so don't get locked out. Rangers drive around the park and notify everyone before closing time. Kids will enjoy large and creative playground. It is made of used tires, some if which are huge and lots of fun for kids of all ages. There is a volleyball court, just bring your ball. As you roam around, you will stumble upon some interesting sites and objects, like agricultural art pieces. It is quiet and serene in the evening, great place for a relaxing walk.
