This place is great. Kristin is the most amazing trainer/teacher. She has gone so insanely above and beyond what we would have expected for our daughter that I can’t even express into words how grateful we are. She treats her like family. All of the staff really embrace our daughter and make an effort to make sure she feels happy and welcome. Shae is great too. Thanks to Kristin and Shae and the rest of the people here our daughter gets to live her dreams every week. Also my daughter has conversations with all of the horses in the stables and refers to them as her “friends” which is awesome.
We really enjoy lessons with Audrey here. They have a lot of horse and a lot of space for the horses. We homeschool, so we haven't run into overcrowding as much, but I do know evenings can get crowded with different people giving lessons at the same time. But there are 3 different places on the farm for lessons. I miss some of the family feel of other barns I've been to, with owners bringing their dogs and knowing the people. This is larger than I've been to before as well, but run very well. I imagine having a trainer you like makes all the difference, as it does in our case. : it also is an easy drive from Overland Park
My daughter, our horses and I love Seven Oaks! Jeff, Mike and their crew take excellent care of our equine friends and the trainers at Two Bit are top notch for both horse and rider. Thanks to the professionalism of everyone there and a wonderful horse community we always feel safe and welcome. Jeff also goes out of his way to accommodate our ever changing needs! I couldn't ask for more!
We had a pasture horse and the golf cart they provided was always broken or they took the keys regularly so that you couldn't use it. Once you see how large the pasture is, you will understand. It was very inconvenient because the horses are always out as far away as they can get from the front pasture. Even more concerning is that you cannot ride your horse most days in the arenas because they are being utilized by trainers giving lessons and even lunging their horses. There was one incident in particular where my daughter fell off her horse during her riding lesson with an instructor because the western instructor was lunging her horse and it spooked my daughter's horse. How dangerous is that? They are asking for a lawsuit. An overly crowded arena of drastically varying skill levels is extremely dangerous. The instructors don't seem concerned even when questioned about it. At any time, there are at least 3 or 4 lessons happening in the arena. Add to that several boarders also trying to ride their horses at the same time. What the barn owners don't seem to understand is that just because they make you sign a waiver ... it does not preclude them from their legal responsibility ... especially when the overcrowding of the arenas is well known to everyone who boards there. It is a common complaint. Overall, I would avoid this barn. It is overcrowded by instructors trying to make a buck with little concern for rider safety from my experience ... which seems to be the overall theme at this barn. Thankfully my daughter wasn't hurt badly in her fall. It seems that the Instructors take priority, then the inside boarders, then finally last and certainly least ... the pasture boarder.
Excellent quality, well maintained stalls and arena. The instructiors and staff are so very well majored and trained. You and your children will absolutely love this place. They have the highest quality Farrier's like Charles Mattingly AFA#1613 tending to their horses. I loved my experience and will be going back regularly.
Great place to keep my horse. Jeff and Mike are very attentive and keep the grounds very clean and neat . Lots of space to prepare for a show or trail ride.
Very very nice high quality stables!
If your thing is competition this could be a great place. We needed a place for an older horse to spend his remaining years among friends. This wasn't the right place for us.
Called to ask a question about horse joy ride and they hung up on me how professional. How would people know this if you hang up when asked learn some manners!
You will be hard pressed to find a place that will take better care of your horses. I’d give 10 stars if I could.
