Child Safety experts now recommend not using heavy winter coat under a car seat harness. I have the perfect, adorable solution!
Child Safety experts now recommend not using heavy winter coat under a car seat harness. If involved in an accident, the coat can compress, leaving dangerous gaps between your child and their car seat harness. This can lead to serious injury.
I spent many Michigan winters wrestling with coats and blankets, trying to find a solution to this problem. After thinking long and hard, and consulting with my mom friends, I began working on my design for my ponchos! .
When you're ready to head out, simply slip the hood over baby's head and carry them out to the car. When you put them in the seat, drape the back of the poncho over the back of the seat. Buckle the baby in under the front of the poncho. Lay the rest of the poncho over baby to keep them warm, and you're ready to go!
All my ponchos are handmade by me, here in my home. Each is made with a double layer of soft fleece, and is completely reversible. The hood is fully lined for baby's comfort in mind. I make ponchos to fit all ages. Please keep in mind that the nature of handmade items means that each item is completely unique and may vary slightly.
