Experience the exquisitely intact family home of William Henry Seward, Secretary of State under Presidents Lincoln and Johnson. Guided tours of the historic interior explore topics including the Civil War, women’s rights, and antislavery through the compelling lives and accomplishments of the Seward family.
To inspire curiosity and foster learning about 19th century America through the lens of the William H. Seward family by providing engaging and unique experiences; to preserve, protect and care for the collection; and to sustain the historical grounds.
The Museum is closed in January and open for pre-scheduled group tours only in February. Beginning March 1, 2016, the Museum offers guided tours on the hour from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday. During the summer hours, the Museum is also open for tours on the hour from 1pm to 4pm. Special tours and events are held throughout the year.
