Great place for parties and reunions! Good indoor and outdoor space.
Shady Hollow is a beautiful lodge. Perfect for small gatherings or meetings.
The building itself is beautiful as is the location. I was disappointed with the decision to include large, six-foot, custom-made tables which unlike in the previous lodge do not fold. Although the tables are elegantly crafted, they limit the usefulness of the space. A very small group would share the room with large empty tables. Parties will have little room for dancing or games that require movement and space. Health oriented meetings or activities will have little room for exercise , movement, or massage tables. Having loved the original lodge, I am sad that this one does not seem usable for my needs. If open space is not a priority, or you plan to be mostly outdoors, it is a very nice, new facility.
My dad's family had this booked for a reunion and it was quite small. There were indoor restrooms but only 1 person could use them at a time. There was a well equipped kitchen with enough space for about 5 or 6 people. The parking area was limited and we had to block some people in.
What a beautiful setting for a birthday party. The kids liked running around outside better than the birthday cake. The lodge is new, beautiful, well equipped, and very clean. The rangers were very helpful checking in and checking out.

We have been renting the Shady Hollow Lodge for several years now to host an extended family Thanksgiving. The old place was nice, too bad that it burned down. The good news however is that the new Lodge is fantastic. The Metro Park system has really done a fantastic job putting the new place together.
Has a wonderful river that the road crosses over top of. A sweet experience! And enough benches, too
The lodge was very beautiful. The view was awesome. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a place to have a get together.
