Best place to stay in the area. Very clean and front desk was quick and very sweet. Christin helped getting me a taxi and she was so nice about it. It was a nice experience they did a great job remodeling.Rooms: 5/5
Could not get a professional response or confirmation so I called to cancel and somehow my request was lost and I was charged twice rate even though I did not stay on the property and have yet to speak to a manager and the customer service number is disconnected. Horrible! Finally get the front desk and this person refused to give her name and was very rude and hung the phone up. Called to speak to manager and she was even worse than the person previously, just refused to to show any professionalism. Totally dishonest and just a poor excuse for a hotel .Believe me! bad business is offered with ease . Do yourself a favor and stay far away. Shamrock stinks!!
Don’t come here at all I went two days ago I forgot my speaker called in within 5 mins of leaving the facility to let them know they told me they will grab it and put it away that I can get it in the morning I came in the morning house keeping havent touch the room that I was staying in but speaker is gone no one know nothing I asked management to check the cameras to see who is stealing from customers especially being something taken within the facility she was blaming me saying I took it and I told her all can be fixed by just taking a look at the cameras and she went off to tell me I’m a drunk instead of doing her job by handling a situation that can be easily fixed n solved by watching the camera footage again not a place to ever go again especially when an employee took my speaker and management refused to get to the bottom of it not manage properly Room was okay but having problems like this will bring a business down ppl that go to hotels to unwind and relax when something is taken from a guess management should be all hands on deck to solve who is robbing customers again place is not gonna thrive or grow when ppl who work there can easily take from customers
Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE. Especially if you’re a woman or have kids. This hotel is very dangerous. All kinds of sketchy stuff happening in the parking lot. The room is absolutely disgusting . Staff is as rude as could be. I was traveling with my best friend were both young ladies and we were unable to stay our reservation because of safety concerns. There was a shooting in the room above ours the first night and they refused to cancel and refund our reservation. We slept in the rental car in a safer location as we had not allocated extra money for another hotel, I know irresponsible but not the point. We tried staying another night of our reservation and an older drugged out male started banging on our window and door in the middle of the night trying to get us to come outside and refused to leave. The front desk never answered the phone and the cops never came when we called. The reviews on Expedia are very misleading as we were under the impression this would be a safe location that was budget friendly. Thankfully we’re okay after all of the incidents that occurred only hopeful no one else has to go through it. Please DO NOT STAY HERE.
The room was nice & cozy. It has a beautiful set up. A couple things we ran into though, the water runs out the shower and onto the floor making the bathroom/ room in general wet. We didn't have a microwave or a mini fridge so we either had to eat out or buy a cooler which we did. The lady who checked us out was very rude telling us we should have thrown the towels outside if we wanted another. We ran out of towels so we weren't stepping on wet floor. She then asked us when we were leaving 2 hours before check out. The first two ladies were amazing and the room itself was in good condition so I see us coming back, but hopefully any slight adjustments I've recommended can go to good use.
I definitely didn't want to stay in Cicero, but I tried booking too late and didn't have many options for the holiday weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by the room though. Decently clean, recently updated, the AC worked fine, but took like 20min to kick on. Decent tv in the room with apps that you can log into if you have an account. No fridge though so be sure to bring a cooler. Front desk was pleasant and helpful.
Great location, clean room. Definitely worth the money.Rooms: 5/5
DON’t COME!!! The hotel is in a terrible neighborhood. The supposedly non smoking room is full of smoke smell. The staff is rude and not willing to make changes. Don’t stay at this awful place!! WORST experience ever.Rooms: 1/5
3.5 Stars. I understand that this is a cheaper hotel and I will try to rate it according to what I would expect at that price point. Pros: - Newly redesigned and redecorated rooms with all new everything! It looks very modern. - It's one of the cheapest hotels you can get that is fairly close to Chicago's downtown area. - The room had good temperature controls - Free plentiful parking Cons: - I requested a non-smoking room, which I did receive. When I walked in it smelled like cigarettes. I went back to the front desk and they said they didn't have any other rooms they could give me that were non-smoking. If you don't like smoke, I would skip this motel entirely. - Bring ear plugs with you. The walls are thin. I could hear TVs playing most of the night and in the morning when I woke up. - There was literally no comforter on the bed, it was just 2 thin bed sheets to cover up with. I've never had that happen in a hotel/motel before. - There is no soap whatsoever. Not even hand soap. I get it, they are trying to keep costs down by not providing shampoo/conditioner, but no hand soap? That's really strange. - The towels were very rough. Like comically rough. They went out of their way to buy the most sandpaper towels I've ever seen in my life lol Other things I noticed: - The curtains don't close all the way to the window so the building lights shine in at night. Bring your eye mask with your ear plugs while you are at it! - The sink in my room drained so slow it filled with water. I reported it to the front desk the next day. I have no idea how fast they repair things like that. - The motel is located in a bit of a low-income area. but that is probably why it's much cheaper than other hotels near chicago. - No microwave/mini fridge. You can't store you left overs from eating out.
The Shamrock's room was nice for the price buy service and location were uncomfortable. Safety: If having the police come to the hotel 3 times in a one day stay is safe...it was?‍
