I loved this place until my most recent visit where my ring was worked on in the shop. My husband purchased my wedding set here and I purchased his wedding band here. I got my set soldered together about 5 years ago and it looked great. Most recently we go another band to go with the set. I left my original wedding set to get polished cleaned, and the new band soldered with it. When I picked it up the first time I noticed when I got home that the new ring was soldered a lot lower and it was actually affecting the fit of the ring. I brought it back the next day and the man working in the sales room took a look and brought it in the back and agreed it should be moved up. I left the set with him that day, and came back the next day to pick it up. I live in Stockton and was making the 1 hour 20 minute drive with two kids under 5 every time. When I picked up my set the next day I was mortified, and so sad. The bottom of the rings were now even , but the shape had totally changed. It looked like my bands had been melted and were squished together. The woman working customer service told me “over time rings change shape with wear and tear” and also “it would never be perfect”. This alarmed me because I found myself telling her how my rings look prior, and she honestly looked at me like it was her word against mine. I look at my rings everyday, I know the condition in which I dropped them off…. Plus I’ve only had it for 6 years, the wear and tear she is referring to I know takes years and years! She then told me they could “rebuild the bottom of my rings”. Rebuild?! My original set is 6 years old, and the new band is identical to my original wedding band! The way it fits is still not right, it looks weird because the width of the bands is dramatically smaller on the bottom, and I am honestly still in shock at that last experience. I get these things may never be perfect, but now to make it the way it was prior to this experience I need to have them rebuild it?! I’ve lost all confidence is leaving my ring there again. I am so upset a brand new band has been altered so dramatically and my original set now looks ruined. Pictures don’t do it justice. :
We went into Shane Co. only to have my ring cleaned last week. My husband decided to buy a additional band for my wedding ring! It took less than 5 days to have my rings soldered together and resized. My ring turned out GREAT! I LOVE it! Gwendolyn was nice and a hilarious saleswoman. GREAT experience! I read some of the reviews and was a tad worried but my ring turned out fine which prompted me to leave my own experience.
27 years ago we purchased a wedding set. 10 years ago I upgraded the solitaire to 1.5c. I wanted to give my wife something special for 25 years yet she did not want to give up her original set. We met with Dominique who provided my wife with many options which made her very comfortable. It was a 3 hour process but she decided to give up the center stone for a new wedding set. It was not a pressure sell but listening and knowing what my wife desired. We ended up with a Blue Sapphire. We came to pick up the ring and my wife was overjoyed except now seeing her original set stone less. We met with Nancy who provided once again the same level of customer service and no pressure. The decision was purely my wife’s and not a pressure sell. We were asked all the right questions including budget. Another 3 hours spent. But both of these ladies made the experience relaxing, enjoyable and rewarding. My wife is overjoyed with the final decision and has fallen in love with her original set all over again. We are so pleased after 27 years we still return to the Shane Co. quality products but for sure the exemplary customer service is what sets them apart. Thanks Dominique and Nancy
Shane Co. is a great jewelry store but overpriced. I recommend it if you’re looking to buy jewelry that you plan to keep wearing, like wedding bands and engagement rings because the purchase comes with lifetime maintenance and the option to upgrade later. The staff here is nice and professional. A lot of them have worked there since I started coming here 5 years ago. It takes too long when you need to drop something off to get serviced though. I tend to spend upward of half an hour every time.
Have made several purchases at this Shane Co. Location over the years and have been happy with the customer service and no sales pressure. My most recent purchase for a wedding band for my wife went really smoothly. Annie, a wonderful sales rep at Shane Co, helped me find the perfect ring and get it sent to the shop for sizing. The ring looked great and arrived on time as promised.
The Walnut Creek Shane Company has been my go to shop for my fiance's engagement ring and our wedding bands. Their service is incredible and we've gone back several times to purchase additional items or even have jewelry from other shops repaired there. Domini and her team really make us feel like we have a friend in the diamond business .
I am incredibly impressed by the kindness and service of Shane &Co jewelers in Walnut Creek. They were able to make an emergency repair on a 1940’s tennis bracelet to be worn the same day by the bride! Annie and the receptionist were so kind and thoughtful! Huge thanks to Shane & co who saved the day!
Horrible service team. We were welcomed at the door and told to wait for the next available associate so we browsed the floor for 30 minutes, without help. They had many workers standing around not helping anyone but no one said anything to us. We finally went back to the front to ask for help again and they sent for someone to take us to the floor. After several minutes a lady escorted us back in with barely a glance and told us to wait AGAIN so she could get someone to help us. A man who was previously walking around the store not doing anything finally sauntered over to help but wasn’t super friendly. Would have asked about 3 more pieces if we had good service, NEVER going back. Wouldn’t shop for a special occasion here.
Dropped off a gold necklace/pendant that I had for 40+ years gift from relatives from Italy where the bail needed to be replaced. The bail had been worn down considerably after 40 years of daily wear. The repair job was to solder the bail. My husband dropped the pendant off and picked it up; however, rather than fix the original bail they replaced it entirely. Issue here was the original bail was oval, thick, and designed so that the pendant lay flat. Shane co decided to replace it with a circular bail that looks like a hoop earring with a considerably thinner bail. This wasn’t the repair work asked of them. If you’re unable to repair an item brought to you, you should advise the customer first rather than redesign the jewelry. So disgusted. I’ll never use Shane Co again.
I came in to get my rings sized, my engagement ring was from Shane but my wedding band was not. Evan at Walnut Creek helped me, and he was so great in doing so. While they cleaned my rings he was showing me some earrings I was interested in, and I ended up buying them and I wear them everyday. Thank you Evan for your wonderful service!
