Please don’t come here. Go to Sharp memorial on frost street if you actually want help. 2 weeks ago my partner went in for abdominal pain and vomiting. She was sent home without even an IV. The other day she went in for the same concerns and finally ordered a CT scan. They still didn’t provide IV fluids even though she had been throwing up for days and the iodine used for CT scans can dehydrate you. We even asked and they said it was unnecessary. They found nothing from the CT scan and instead of investigating her persistent pain further, they sent her home. Also, when taking her blood, the nurse couldn’t get it in her vein and as she was pushing fluids my partners arm bubbled up and is very bruised. They also don’t provide beds to most guests, you’re in a recliner with a sheet draped over it and you can’t lay flat for the abdominal check. All of this to say that my partner spent 5 hours at sharp memorial on frost street, they took her in for an ultra sound and redid the CT. She had a 10mm cyst on her ovary. They also got her vein on the first try. Not once did this hospital care enough to investigate her very real pain. 1 star to everyone except for the very sweet guy who was able to come in after the other nurse who had missed her vein few times. He’s good at what he does and should get a job at a better hospital, he deserves it.
I personally enjoyed my visits and stays here. Always had my trust placed within each and every staff, nurse and doctor I’ve ever came across at Sharp. All staff were very friendly and welcoming to me. I’ve been treated and seen here for many appointments and stays for both my pregnancies and delivery as well. Both times I’ve given birth here, I was well taken care of by each and every nurse that switched shift. I’ll always have a special connection to this hospital for the mere fact that they’ve always made it very memorable for me. Nurse Lili, you expressed such empathy towards me and you were such a great nurse and individual. I appreciate the kind words and advice you gave me before I was discharged. Thank you Sharp for making the precious moments the most memorable!
Such a horrible experience. If this is the Sharp experience I’m good. Doctor John Rodriguez is rude and condescending. I came in with hives. He assumed I wanted narcotics which was not the case. What was mostly degrading was when he put his badge to my face. He lacks empathy and appropriate bedside manners.
This place is a horrible er, Please do not come here as it seems like they show little care for their locations that are in low income areas. While wait times are expected these people do not care about their patients nor check on them. I am currently in the waiting room and I just met a lady that is experience chest pains and is complaining about swelling there’s also a pregnant woman experiencing abdominal pain. For all we know there could be something extremely serious going on with her baby. This place is gross and shows how SHARP does not care for their patients. I have been to other sharp locations that are more up north and in more expensive areas and they are so much different. I have complained about the trash and made a point that how can I be sure that I’ll receive quality care if sharp can not even keep a waiting room sanitary and clean. As you can tell there has been left for hours and My bf made a complaint and the lady in front just dismissed it. This is so unacceptable. Please don’t come here as it is clear they don’t invest care and time in their low income locations. As you can tell in the pictures this place is really dirty and I can not assure you that your needs and worries will be taken care of.
DO NOT COME HERE!!! The rating they currently have is too generous. If you have a way to choose then choose any other place. I had never, ever been to a hospital with so many unprofessional nurses with zero empathy and nor vocation and I have been to many due to my health. Complaining to the charge nurse is useless as they all cover each others back.
They charged my insurance $4000 and a $250 copay and that's with insurance for a covid and strep test I was informed by the financial receptionist it's because the Doctors are subcontracted by the hospital, when I refused an x-ray because I wasn't congested and it costs too much the nurse got angry and told me to wait in the lobby before seeing the doctor, even though I had already waited in the lobby for an hour and a half most likely because they want to get as much money from you as possible save yourself time and money and go to a better more affordable hospital these people are thieves and will do what they can to get your money
The staff and nurses during intake were extremely helpful and kind. I was taken to a room very quickly. The doctor however didn’t seem to think my issue was worth her time. She cut me off, didn’t make eye contact, left me waiting for over an hour to come back but sent a nurse instead that said “okay you’re good to go!” Clearly the doctor didn’t communicate anything. I was wheeled in on a wheelchair and then got pushed out the door without the doctor even bothering to come back and explain what was going on. Just sent me home with a piece of paper and made a referral to the wrong specialist. I honestly cried walking out of there. My condition is worse, I can barely walk, I’ve had to wait weeks to get into my primary care provider and then up to another 2 weeks to get the proper specialist referral. I could have had the issue taken care of that week if that doctor had given a little more care. Don’t let this deter you from going here cause there are some AMAZING people at this hospital. And I really hope she was just busy or maybe had a rough day. I specifically tried to go in while it wasn’t too busy, early in the morning. And there was barely anyone there. I’d just like Sharp Chula Vista to know that experience didn’t feel good. Maybe pay your nurses more since they do all the work and care, and hold doctors more accountable because that system is horrible.
The nurses are attentive and nice, but still, this place has been so negligent. I received a procedure for a kidney stone and was left with a stent inside. I was told I needed to make a follow-up appointment and I tried, but the place assigned was also very rude and didn't answer, then when they did, they did not let me see the doctor I needed to see. I've been up and down places and making calls trying to get help, but nobody helps me. Yesterday, I came back due to my symptoms getting worse, and I was told not to eat or drink anything, as if I was going to get the procedure done. I was left laying on the emergency room for hours until a nurse came to discharge me. Nobody told me anything until I sounded mad to the nurse, who finally called the doctor. Told me I had an infection but still refused to remove it and sent me back home and was told to keep trying to make those follow-up appointments, even after I told them I couldn't. I feel like I wasn't allowed to say my issue correctly, and I also feel they were very negligent and uncaring over the fact that I need this stemt removed before I get even worse than I already am.
By far the worst hospital/emergency, if possible go somewhere else. They will not help you. They will do a simple basic test and send you home. The purpose is to mimic a false environment of caring for the patient/customer, but in reality is meant to collect money and get you out, the same way you checked in as a patient that’s how you leave, with no care. I would not be surprised if this hospital is full of debt. Anyone who has a good insurance is probably skipping this emergency and going to one where the doctors truly care about their patients. I saw my chart and was astonished at all the lies the active doctor who attended me wrote said I drove there but I actually walked there you can even see me on the surveillance camera walking, said i denied shortness of breath which is a lie I was fatigued, said I denied any chills or fevers lied I just didn’t have a fever on that day but I had the chills, said follow up with primary care I have no primary care, said I declined medication for treatment which is a lie, said I denied any nausea but did prescribe me nausea medication— I am typing what was typed on my chart and that’s just to give you an idea. The parts the doctor wrote on the chart that were truthful he, disregarded without offering or giving me medication for treatment nor extended any type of help, when I was suffering. If you find yourself in a predicament like I did. And you end up at this hospital. If my review finds you. Be aggressive and scream, cry if you need to, being rational and patient/tolerant will get you nowhere at a hospital like this one be sure to make a fool of yourself, so that you can be seen. Keep in mind this is what you call a false emergency hospital. Next time I’ll just call a taxi or a means of transportation and rely on another hospital/emergency at another location. I am going to forget I have a hospital walking distance.
Was in the emergency room for 8 hours only to get pain meds and sent home with an appointment which was never made. Came in and was sent home because appt. was never made. I had the worst nurse ever in my life she would ignore me on purpose she had no answers at all. The only time i was helped is when she was in lunch and a nurse took care of all my questions and got a doctor on board and this was at hour 7. I hope i never have to go to the emergency room again because this one will be my last option. Another patient discharged herself because she wasn't being helped same nurse. Some people shouldn't work with patients if they don't want to help.
