Always a fun round here. Always so beautiful. The course could use a little upkeep with the cart pathways, busy aside from that, a cool old school vibe. Beware of the Bloody Mary’s. Although a generous shot of vodka, very much lacking in flavor! Still did the job though!
This golf course has so much potential, but suffers from lack of maintenance. Fairways are pedestrian. Grass in areas are not mowed, lots of dead spots and crab grass. Greens were bumpy after recently being aerated to get rid of a weed infestation. However I’ve played courses with aerated holes and the balls didn’t roll as bad as these. Sidewalk cart paths are broken so why bother renting a cart. Holes 4-7 are challenging with the elevation changes. Holes 16-17 are next to the beach trail and you can hear the ocean waves. They should discount the green fees until the putting green issues are remedied by SF Parks and Rec. Bar and restaurant have a decent options and are worth a visit. Again, so much potential, but current conditions are not worthy of an Alister McKenzie course.
If you want to check out the blue sky, then go there. If you want to play some golf, don’t go to this course. The green condition was so bad.. it’s not something they could maintain any longer. It crossed the bridge already. So much of small weeds on the green, so the ball bumps multiple times on every single putt. Sky? Check out the picture here..
They have a cluster grass infestation on the greens. Until they get that under control it’s a pass to play here, even for a reasonable price. It’s a shame - the layout is a blast through the canyon and back 9, with some fun, rewarding shots and holes, and the course is in decent shape! but it’s impossible to play an actual round here for now.
Very interesting Alister Mackenzie track with a lovely flow to the course. I walked the 18 holes carrying my bag, and the course is flat enough to carry. Greens are furry, and slow, and there were mounds of dirt everywhere. However, that did not distract from the natural beauty and native flora and fauna found on the course. No views of the ocean, but you will hear the sound of crashing waves. Really enjoyed the last stretch 14-18 with the short 130 yard par 3 over the tall reeds, to the 319 yard #17 which is driveable with a breeze behind. Enjoyed and will be back.
A lovely layout, seaside Links course designed by architect of Augusta national in one of his only municipal links courses. Steeped in history, with sea breezes, solid greens and a strong lay out. The fairways are in so so shape in the sea wall blocks the original epic views... But I'm still giving it five stars because for its price has to be one of the best courses available.
Only had 9 holes open. Course was a joke. Grass not cut, like a cow field. Tee boxes a mess. Mounds of dirt everywhere from groundhogs or something. No communication when course was booked the greens were punched and sanded. Drive a hour to the course. Won't be coming back. Plus handicapper so this isn't out of left field. I play pebble and goat tracks but this was a bit much
Absolute dump. Course conditions are an absolute joke. The greens are horrible. Fairways aren’t cut. Tee boxes are dirt and uneven. Pro-Shop is a run down building. Whole place is a joke. Also doesn’t have enough carts and then make you pay for a pushcart. This place is a joke. The city needs to do something about it , pathetic.Visited onWeekday
Famed Alister Mackenzie golf spot in Pacifica. Course is in okay condition, reasonable shortish layout. Great place to tune your game. Can get swampy in the winter. Breezy ocean weather. Could be a gem!!Visited onWeekend
If playing Sharp Park, be prepared to wait, wait, wait, and wait some more. The pro shop lets out groups of 5, 6, and 7 somes. Ridiculous! As for the course, it does have a nice layout with generous fairways and small greens. Usually this place is very wet from the heavy marine layer, but today was a rare nice day. Definitely not going to come back, unless my round was free.
