My DRs office had me come in due to miscarriage/excessive bleeding, so a d&c surgery needed to be done which had ahead been scheduled for later that month, but needed to be addressed sooner due to the bleeding. When I got to the ER I was taken back immediately & hooked up for vitals. I did let them know i was feeling light-headed/warm, & was given an IV for fluids & ice-packs. I do feel that I waited for a while, before anything was done, as for as my blood loss, other than being assisted with cleaning myself & changing my soiled clothes/bedding. And all the while continuing to feel weak & light-headed. I mentioned to them again how I was feeling, & my concern for how much I was bleeding. By the time my Dr came, I had begun sweating, & my blood pressure was downtrending. I believe the wait was due to my Dr’s scheduled surgeries, along with a change in my nurse while I was waiting, so I understand. Nonetheless, my Dr came in & was able to get things moving with urgency/priority, & she was able to bump up my procedure. So I truly appreciate Dr. Lindsay Graff, & Midwest Center for Women’s Healthcare for making sure that I went to the ER! The surgery prep was thorough. The anesthesiologist & nurses explained everything & answered any questions that I had. They also offered to have a Chaplin come before the procedure, which I appreciated as well. The surgery went by very quickly, & afterward I felt so much better. No pain, just the after affects of the anesthesia. & the recovery team was amazing, & very attentive, caring & understanding!
My son went in for dental surgery and I was terrified it was going to be a very bad experience. The doctors and nurses were absolutely exceptional and eased all my, my husbands and my sons fears. The surgery experience for him went very smoothly, everyone was amazing, and he calls the OR nurses his surgery moms. From nurse Andrea in day surgery, to all of the "surgery moms" in the OR, all the nurses we encountered in PACU, Dr. Singhal, and the receptionists in day surgery, our overall experience was amazing because of everyone. I will definitely always use Sherman hospital when anyone in my family needs care!
Literally worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I had to go to a different hospital for them to figure out what was wrong with me. Spent almost 7 hours for NO ANSWER. DO BETTER. Even your bedside manners are not up to par. Would rather drive hours farther away than go here. They don’t care about patients.
Brought my kids father tonight 10/03/23 at 830pm..since he wasn't eating for 3 day.. he also slept for 2 days ,had no appetite and also he had a severe pain on his Rshoulder for 2 days.. I made him come even if he didn't want to come..He had worked today 12 hrs so he was exhausting and just wanted to sleep. I felt he wasnt well and convinced he had to go to the ER.. We spend 4.5 hrs in the waiting room..finally ithey called on him to go in ..thinking he was going to get a room instead he had a bed outside in the hallway next to a Loud screaming lady In room 24. He had L-24 assigned to him..beeping EVERWHERE! To be honest this felt like COOK COUNTY HOSPITAL....To top it off he wasn't aware his sugar was so evaluated 328! We had NO privacy had nurses and doctors, techs everywhere. The beeping never stopped! Was the worst experience he ever had for never coming to this hospital.. Hope this hospital doesn't expect to charge us for a room we never received. So over crowded tights busy hallway with everyone walking around us.. Never coming to this hospital..its now 4am and still no room for him.. just want to pick him up and leave this annoying traffic.. To say more we had to wait next to a disgusting bathroom.. My chair was was literally right next to this busy bathroom that EVERYONE used. Update I had to ask his nurse if he coukd please get a room..@410am. Room is so disgusting BLOOD everywhere on the floor.. told a nurse to please sent over housecleaning to clean all this BLOOD ..waiting still for over 30 mins.
Always a pleasure, surgery went great. Very caring and hospitable nurses, and my Dr. Dina Golbin-Hallett is simply thee absolute best! The IV is always the scariest part, but my nurse was able to get it in quickly and on the first try thank God. I always get very chatty due to my nerves before any procedure, but every operation is always fast, efficient and painless :
From the time I entered Advocate Sherman Hospital, until after my surgery the same day. I was treated with the utmost respect. Dr Kunio and his team were wonderful. From the pre-op nurse to the post-op nurse and everyone in between were wonderful. They listened and were not rushed. I would definitely go back to Sherman without any hesitation. Thank you Advocate Sherman Hospital.
The staff is absolutely amazing!!!! Registration, Vitals, nurses, CT Scan ; everything was perfect and prompt. However the only thing I would recommend is the cleanliness of the rooms. There was garbage everywhere. We got put in , in a room that wasn’t well kept. But I will still keep supporting Nurses and doctors here. Thank you for taking care of my dad today
Horrid service my boyfriend went in because he needed a note to go back to work, and ended up being there for almost 7 hours because after running the tests, he wasn't allowed to leave, or even go to the cafeteria to eat after not eating before arrival. Finally asking again to go get food they told him oh results are dont, then after this long they tell him it's just a sinus infection. Took you almost 7 hrs to tell him that. Rediculous.
My 12 yr old son recently broke his wrist, I took him to Sherman and everyone was amazing until we were taken back to the room #22. We waited over an hour with my sons wrist dislocated. He was crying in pain and no one came to see us. My wife went out to the desk area and asked where our nurse was or could someone give him something anything for pain. She was met with the rudest nurse saying "your going to have to wait" and then when our nurse went walking by she said "THERE HE IS". The most frustrating thing was everywhere we looked there was nurses/cna's on their phones. I know everyone is just as important as the next person. But a 12 year old with a wrist shaped in a S, cmon. We would've waited days as long as he had some pain meds to relieve his pain. However our nurse TIM was amazing. Once he came in things started rolling, he was sedated, his wrist set back in place. Just want to say I know ERs are overwhelmed and I know there's a shortage of nurses but a polite "we'll be right with you" would have gone so much farther. PS my son came home groggy saying he loved Tim his nurse.
I went there yesterday. I had a terrible headache and my blood pressure super high, after a few hours the doctor told me that I was ok. I was not ok, my headache was killing me and I wanted to vomit, they gave me pills even when I insisted I was to vomit which I did. Terrible experience, only the emergency nurse save me. She was my angel, I wish I could tell her Thank you so much. She took me seriously and put me the right medicine
