The park as a whole is pretty nice, especially with a pier and beach a short walk away. Unfortunately the pier is "structurally unstable", and there doesn't seem to be any plans to fix it. The roads and paths throughout the park are extremely run down which is probably the most evident nuisance there, however everything else seems to be very operational.
A very nice RV park along the water. Nice and quite considering the amount of people visiting. The beach front is right at your door we were able to walk along the beach front without leaving. A small water slide and pool are down the way. A laundromat showers and restrooms are available too. I did not use these.
Nice and clean. Just make sure you get a site number and bathroom code when booking!!! The booking lady was kind but just said to choose a site when we get there after dinner and didn't mention the bathrooms needing a code. The guys who work the campground are very rude and unhelpful in that area and apparently don't coordinate with the booking staff. I watched them yell at a little girl who really needed to go potty even though the women's bathroom was locked for no reason and wouldn't tell her the code yet the men's was open. Other campers will tell you the code though if you forget I found. Otherwise beautiful area.
Overall pretty good park. Sites are concrete and angled at 45 degrees. Hookups worked perfectly. Grounds are well kept and you are located right next to the water with a large spot for fishing. The laundry was free with four washers and four dryers. I would definitely stay here again!
Nice place to stay with full hookups, not a lot to do in area unless you like the beaches. USS Lexington tour was nice and found a couple of good restaurants. Only downer was the roads on base and campground were rough and in need of repair.
If you are able to use this RV park...active duty and retired....do it. Can fish about 25 yards from the water. Loved the place, hated the mosquitos at night...lol.
Unfortunately campground roads have huge potholes that needs serious attention. Additionally, sites are not well maintained with overgrown grass and if you have furry babies, watch out for goatheads as your dog will be limping. Facilities are not cared for, all run down. Watch out for the picnic table too, it's rusted and rusted metal sticks out. Overall neglected and unsafe
Not my first time here. Have stayed here over the years. Plus I have a couple reviews posted about those previous visits. This visit was unique though for two reasons. It was my first time to tent camp here. As well as my first time joining their Navy Camp-out event. I had a blast doing both!
Overall good RV park with nice concrete pads that are well spaced, giving you plenty of privacy at least in the “B” loop. Wouldn’t recommend the A loop as those sites are difficult to navigate and are on grass. Close to Gulf and laundry use is free. Base is run down but there is a NEX and commissary. The roads are beyond terrible, especially once you’re in the RV park. Prepare to navigate potholes that double as portals to hell.
Spacious sites, but the roads are filled with potholes. Wi-Fi is nearly unusable, but T-Mobile 5G was over 200Mbps down, making it perfect for working remotely. No issues with the full hook-ups.
