Shin-La Restaurant & Sushi Bar

Good Food, Fresh Food, But dirt, dusty and lack luster server. I wanted to give this place a better review because the food was actually good and its local, however, the place was a mess. The floor was not vacuumed The cups had crumbs on it The napkins had spots on them Nothing seemed wiped The fish tank was filthy, and the plates didn't seem cleaned properly. The waiter seemed kind of out of it when we asked for different cleaner napkins and new chopsticks, for some reason the chopsticks were on the napkin and looked used, like washed and these are the kind of take out chopsticks. I ate as fast as I could and left to get a drink from another place. I hope the restaurant can get a once over and clean up, other than that I will stay clear from here. The customers should demand better, you are eating there. It should be cleaner.

Rating this place mostly on the food, I have to give it 5 stars. The atmosphere may be lacking, but finding sushi anywhere near this quality is difficult in New England. I am very particular about sushi and have tried dozens of restaurants in NH and Mass as well as while traveling to Japan, and I must say this place is in my top five experiences in New England.

Update: they continue to impress! Waitress was UNBELIEVABLE. The variety of food we had was awesome. I had yakimandu and hot noodles... exactly what i was craving. Older: What dont I love about this place. Food is fresh and traditional. Love the family atmosphere.

They are a great restaurant and the sushi is delicious. I did not give it 5 stars for overall because it did not stand out. The service was 100% 5 stars and I tipped accordingly. The Mochi Ice Cream deserved à 10 star Kid-friendliness: My daughter is 9 and the water spore directly to her treating her as an equal. Any place that recognizes autonome is awesome in my book.

Came here for dinner with the family Everyone enjoyed their meals Chicken karage, miso soup and white rice for the kids - chicken was very crispy and served with a. Nice sauce ! Adults had the spicy tofu yummmmm! And sushi rolls Ambiance is meh Enjoyed the food and friendly staff tho - thank you!

Shin La used to be pretty good but the sushi I had last night was terrible, dry, flavorless, and not good fish. Beef teriyaki was edible but overall we won't be going back. And the interior is so depressing--grimy, disorderly, and badly lit. Just sad.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! This place is DISGUSTING. It smells mildewy, the poor fish in the tank are in the sun and almost invisible beneath the thick layer of scum and algae. My raw sushi was placed UNDER A HEAT LAMP. I did not eat it. The server informed me the usual “person who does sushi” wasn’t there. The kitchen is clearly a health risk, even if you don’t take into account the overall filth and general malaise of staff.

Sticky table, wet chopsticks as if they've been reused and washed, and the place is generally filthy. Whole dining room smells as if the rug has never been vacuumed. Uncooked rolls came out concerningly warm and mine came out on a splintered wooden board. I don't write a lot of bad reviews but I'd definitely steer clear.

Very cute place, and the food has that home cooking feel. Waitress was excited to share her menu preferences. The variety of mochi ice cream is an easy plus.Food: 5/5
