The muffuletta was amazing. Got a half because it's huge. Very well sealed packaging. Looked and tasted very fresh. Staff was nice. Side note: they had Titos in liter sizes, I've never seen before, maybe a south thing?
Well first, Hats Off to Sidney’s for helping out a fellow neighbor and second thank you for selling Central Grocery’s famous muffuletta sandwich. Central Grocery is closed and still under repair from storms, but Sidney’s Wine Cellar next door is selling that mentioned sandwich out of their store. The sandwich doesn’t disappoint either! I got a half size because the whole is the size of a medium pizza. It was very good and filling and surprisingly fresh and not soggy considering the sandwiches are pre-made. A definite treat I enjoyed back at my hotel the next day after buying mine. My cost for the half size was $16.45 including tax, well worth the cost, I had two meals out of the half of sandwich.
We popped into Sidney's to get a sandwich since Central Market is closed and they are selling them at Sidney's next door. The rudest two people I ran across in New Orleans were at the door and behind the register. Shouting for us to read the signs and not ask questions....needless to say, we walked right out. I wonder why such a nice Italian market would entrust their beautiful sandwiches to this place. So sad.
Incredibly rude when we came in trying to buy the Central Grocery muffulettas. The woman in the front told us to read the sign, we did as we were told, but it didn’t say where to find them inside the store. We went up the aisle and the man in the back ripped into us about not reading the sign. We really wanted to try the muffulettas, but we went and found a them at restaurant instead. They clearly didn’t want us tourists in their store.
Yikes, worst experience in New Orleans so far. We walked in wanting to buy 7 muffuletta sandwiches for our group. We asked we should go to buy them and every person in the store was incredibly rude, sarcastic, and acted inconvenienced to help us. I mean dang, we were just trying to buy something from your store. Our group decided to just walk back out without buying anything
Busy store. Very popular.
Still trying to make sense out what happened today. Three of us were in Sidney’s checking out the wine and a delivery person came through the store attempting to get down the aisle we were in so we said “ hello” and “excuse me” attempting to make room for him. Then we heard yelling from the two workers in the front of the store telling us to stop talking to him because he’s working. We looked at the workers and told them we were just saying hello and “excuse me” and like robots they repeated not to talk to him. We are visiting from the northeast and while on this trip these 2 people are the only 2 people we encountered that were very rude and VERY weird. We left the store and would advise people to support other stores. I don’t know if this place is part of central grocery since they are selling their muffulettas but if you want a muffuletta go somewhere else. It was a very weird experience and they treated this individual like garbage! A bad reflection on this business!
Rude front end Alligator cashier with green eye makeup and fingernails, almost walked out but wanted a Muffuletta. Yikes.
Convenient spot to grab a beer or pickup a drink while near the French Market. Hit the streets: the folks at the counter are happy to pop your tops and brown-bag you. The expansive selection is worth making a dedicated trip, even if you're not in the area. Also, this is the furthest from PA I've been able to find a Yuengling.
This was a cute shop random af must see
