Founded at the University of Dayton in 1988, the Iota Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi boasts over 600 accomplished alumni who can be found all over the world in many different fields of endeavor.
Sigma Chi (ΣΧ) is one of the oldest and the largest college Greek-letter secret and social fraternities in North America with 240 active chapters and more than 300,000 initiates. Sigma Chi was founded on June 28, 1855 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio when members split from Delta Kappa Epsilon. Sigma Chi has seven founding members: Benjamin Piatt Runkle, Thomas Cowan Bell, William Lewis Lockwood, Isaac M. Jordan, Daniel William Cooper, Franklin Howard Scobey, and James Parks Caldwell.
Our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus and community. Each Sigma Chi brother is challenged to live up to these expectations through their daily actions at the fraternity, on campus and in the community.
