Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporate is the largest Latino-based Greek lettered organization with multicultural membership in the nation. The fraternity’s motto “Opportunity for Wisdom, Wisdom for Culture” expresses the organizations belief in personal and community growth. Since April 4th 1986, it has been the mission of Sigma Lambda Beta to recruit quality men of diverse backgrounds who are confident and able express their personal beliefs and values.
Gentlemen must be ready to grow not only as individuals, but also as a brother of the Fraternity and as member of their community.
As members, Brothers will open their eyes and see the endless opportunities that are available for them. Furthermore, they will be able to express thoughts and ideas to better the rich culture which we all share.
Brothers will learn to recognize the potential that we, as a united whole, exhibit in order to keep our shared values alive.
The ΨΒ (Psi Beta) CHAPTER FACTS:
Founded at Wayne State University on March 1, 2003, the ΨΒ of Σ Λ Β International Fraternity Inc. has been representing the values of Brotherhood, Scholarship, Cultural Awareness and Community Service for 10 years.
The ΨΒ chapter was granted their chapter letters on July 30, 2004.
The chapter has gained their nickname “Psi Beta Kangz” by exemplifying the royalty of Greek Lettered organizations on the campus of W.S.U.
The philanthropies that the ΨΒ of Σ ΛΒ partake in include but are not limited to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Detroit, LA SED, Martin Luther King Day of Community Service, Blight Busters Detroit, Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies & Urban Neighborhood Initiatives .
