My experience with Signature Elizabethton has been very positive. They have an excellent staff and Medical Team. My sister is treated as an individual and everyone is aware of her individual needs. Any concerns or changes in her condition is immediately addressed. The attitude of the staff is caring and concern.
Shon and her amazing team truly treat my Mom and her roommates as though they are important and special. I’ve never seen them impatient or angry with any of the residents at Signature Healthcare at Elizabethton. They are truly amazing men and women who serve our loved ones individually and from their hearts.
Signature Healthcare did an excellent job of taking care of my father! From the Director of Nursing to the staff and physical therapy they treated him with the utmost care! I appreciate all they did and would recommend them to anyone! Thank you to all the workers that helped my dad come home to us you will forever be on our hearts!
My husband's aunt was placed at this facility after she had a massive stroke that caused her to have a pressure wound after she laid at home for 3 days until she was found. She initially had rehab at a facility in Virginia and they were unable to heal her wound or make progress in therapy. She transferred to Elizabethton for additional care. We couldn't be happier with her care. The nursing staff were excellent and really helped her wound close and the rehab she received allowed her to return to her home. I can't recommend this facility enough.
Some of the nurses, and CNA’s here are just okay. The best CNA they have is Desray as she’s very sweet, genuine, and she truly cares about her patients well being. The food here is pretty disgusting, and isn’t fit to eat. The CNA Brenda DOES NOT need to be working with people’s loved ones, and they should’ve fired her a long time ago. The only thing this place has going for them is the physical, and occupational therapists. This definitely wouldn’t be my first pick. I only came here, because I had to, and where I requested to go for therapy was full with no empty beds.
While visiting, a couple of weeks ago, I began talking with a lady, working in the dietary department. After we spoke of the weather changing and how we dreaded the winter, she began telling me her story. This spry/energetic lady has now came out of retirement twice as she spoke of missing the Elders in the nursing home. Her compassion and dedication, to care for others, is a true reflection of the care Signature Healthcare of Elizabethton provides.
When I went in to visit a relative of mine who is there for rehabilitation the staff was hostile towards him and threatened to call the cops for no reason. This deeply troubled me and I honestly think that they should be shut down. A lot of people who are clearly way more active when forced to become on bed rest are going to become hostile or upset or aggravated or agitated or being an uphappy about the situation... I mean how would you feel if you lost the use of your legs and were so active walking everyday of your life because you couldn't drive? They say that they are Christian Center but no Christian would treat another the way they treated my relative. I have also seen them take their time when it comes to letting residents be changed or have to go to the restroom as well as I have seen them leave behind Residents at mealtimes while visiting this location. It seems to me that they have a lack of good employees they have lazy employees and all the good ones are clearly leaving this facility because of the way it is run by the managers the owners of this place do not care about the residents. they only care about the money that they bring in... they go out of their way to fire the good employees which I saw while I was visiting. All it takes is you to get one report as a CNA here even if it's something that is completely misconstrued and they will fire you and report it. It does not even have to be to a resident you can be talking with a co-worker and if somebody reports that you were doing something you weren't supposed to do they will automatically fire you instead of giving listening. They are the worst Health Care Facility in our area others have better ratings as far as the State Board goes and as far as employees go. I have seen some truly astonishing things when I visit here I've never seen their elderly smile or seem happy which is a shame you would think the management would do a better job with this location. No Hopefully eventually their true colors will show and they will get shut down so their elderly can get the proper love and care that they deserve as well as their Rehabilitation patients.
I worked for at this facility for 26 yrs. From May 5th 1992- June 22 2018 I was the environmental director. I can certainly tell you thing's have changed for the worse. Environmental was contacted out to HCSG. - Nov 30th 2016..My self and my staff were allowed to stay, with the same yrs of service, an rate of pay. I had enough staff to clean a 94 bed facility at that time. Long term staff. Most had been with engaged staff, an had been there 20 yrs are more. In January 2017. 262 hrs was taken away. No evening person. Housekeeper could only get 35 hrs a week. No OT.which I always managed an efficient dept. I was given more paper work. I was salary. Some pay period I was working up to 90+ plus hrs bi weekly. I was given 2 hsk-7 hrs a day 2- laundry- 7 hrs floor tech 7 hrs. As well as myself. We had dining room ×3. PT room 3 shower room's 3 N/stations. - 10- office's 2-Public restroom.1- conference room. /Beauty shop on Wed. 48- room's 26- residents rest room's. 2- lobbys 1 From porch. 1 bk porch. The outside break area, where cigarettes butts on the ground every day. We washed wheels chairs, done room moves. Employees break room. also no one would get the garbage. If housekeeper wasn't there. We didn't have M.M Insurance when we were contacted with Hrs. I lost 2 long term employees within 4 months. Signature Health Care, has been my home away from home,I have stayed in the facility an made a bed in my office several winter's. Because I live in the country. As 2017 more an more work was required of all the staff. I was working 10 to 12 hrs a day. Just to keep the facility half way clean. I was being torn between the Administrator, an my regional boss. I hurt my knee on March 30th 2018. On my knees in the front office. My knee slipped an hit the floor. I didn't think much about it. After several weeks it stared swelling on me. My daughter is a nurse practitioner. She saw it an advise me to elevate an ice at night. I was Waring a knee brace as well. I noticed I couldn't get down on my knees. But I thought I would be fine. On May 21st 2018. I was going in to run the side by side. in the dining area. Where the fish tank had been moved. I was going to fix the floor. It could only be done at night. When I got to the facility, alone with 2 more employees. I was ask to wax the front office, an the other small office. So I did. But 100 hall shower room' the tile in it is awful. So I took the side by side, ran it for 2 hrs with no effect. Because it wasn't seals in the 90s, when installed. That night my knee was very swollen. On May 22 I reported it. It took me all day to find out who to report to. When I gave the report, I gave March 30th as the date I injured it. They sent me to first assists. Which did xrays an said follow-up with orthopedic. I did contact the insurance company. They made me appt with orthopedic. On June 4th-2018 I was put on restrictions. 90% setting. I was given 5 PT visits. They couldn't keep the fluid off my knee, I was to return June 25th- 2018 for MRI. On Saturday I received a letter saying I was denied my claim. I had to reach out to MY primary care physicians. HCSG wanted me to sign papers stated what I could do. I had to ask my primary care physicians. Which said I needed a MRI. I was given a meator from the State of Tennessee,to work with me an the insurance company. Trying to get a MRI. Finally I did get a MRI. It shows meniscus tare. I was told by HCSG to have my Dr statement saying unknown when I could return to work. At this point I hadn't done the MRI. On August 10th he sent the statement. On August 18 I received a letter saying I was to let My regional director know my intentions of returning to work by September 13th. I couldn't return to work. I've never been injured at work in 25 yrs. I gave my notice. I will be going to court in April. I only hope they will have the decency to take care of my medical bills. As long as I have worked for Signature Health Care of Elizabethton. I've wasn't contacted by the Administrator. I wasnt contacted by My director. I think it was very unprofessional.
My Mother is in this facility and I live a ways away from there, and I'm a disabled veteran. So, I called to check on Mom cause my family told me she had fallen a couple of times and I wanted to find out how and why. I called and ask for Autumn Mom's nurse. She gets on the phone and I tell her I'm her son and I ask about some of Mom's meds. Well, Autumn answers my questions about a certain medicine and tells me that she was asleep. Then, I went to ask another question and THEN she said " I can't talk to you, you are NOT on the list of people that I can talk to"! After, she had already told me about that certain medicine and that she was sleeping. Then I had to get another family member to call and tell Autumn that I WAS in fact Mom's son. That was NOT a problem BUT Autumn SHOULD NOT release the most private stuff and THEN cut me off. I call back after my sister-in-law called and I told Autumn that I thought she handled that TOTALLY WRONG and she said "did you call to fuss or ask about your Mom". Of course, I called to ask about Mom but I also needed to let her know she was RUDE about it and then she said "I was yelling and belligerent" AND HUNG UP ON ME!!! I WAS NOT YELLING, MY VOICE NEVER CHANGED AND I SURE WASN'T BELLIGERENT!!! Lastly, I called back and Christine answered this time when Autumn had answered right before. I ask to speak to administration or who ever was in charge this was a SATURDAY and Christine said "there is NO supervisors of any kind until MONDAY!! The place was running WITH NO ONE IN CHARGE OR SUPERVISORS TO MAKE SURE IT WAS RUNNING PROPERLY, CAUSE CLEARLY, IT WAS NOT RUNNING PROPERLY!!!! Oh, and I forgot to add, that I still COULD NOT call and ask about Mom unless she was there cause my name would NOT be added to "the list" until Monday!!! So NOBODY is in charge the WHOLE WEEKEND!!! HOW DO WE KNOW THEY ARE BEING TAKEN CARE OF, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE CALL AND GET TREATED LIKE THAT AND HANG UP ON FAMILY MEMBERS!! THE ONLY WAY THEY AUTUMN CAN GET BY WITH THAT IS BECAUSE NO SUPERVISION!! MOM HAD ONLY BEEN THERE MAYBE 48 HOURS OR SO AND THAT'S THE WAY THEY TALK TO FAMILY!! MAKES YOU WONDER HOW THEY ARE TALKING TO OUR LOVED ONES!!! MAYBE A GREAT PLACE BUT CAN'T PROVE IT BY ME AND MY FAMILY!!
