I've entrusted Beth to my most important framing projects for many years now. She may not be the "cheapest" option but I would only go to a professional artist like her with anything of any value, whether sentimental or market. I have always found her to work to be art in itself and have NEVER experienced dishonesty or anything less than transparency. For example, once upon a time I brought some work, and the shop was very busy -- she warned me that it would take a while to get to my pieces, and that was fine with me. Other times, she has done work that was for a gift -- always on schedule, on budget, and impeccable work. NOT THE CHEAPEST. But the materials and craftmanship are excellent. You do get what you pay for here....
I got something special For my wife and needed a frame done. I googled places and found two places. Silent pictures and Village framing. Village was a little bit less expensive but when I went to Silent and dealt with Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a little bit more price wise but she did work with me on cost. Her vibe and energy were wonderful. She was helpful and took her time giving me different options for this special gift. So I gave Elizabeth the go ahead to do the job. Her turn around time was faster than expected and I really appreciated it. I have 2 more things I need framed and will be coming back to Elizabeth at Silent Pictures. I really don't think anyone else could of done a better job on it. UPDATE: Another one DJ Khaled voice. Came to silent pictures and Elizabeth again for a custom frame for a Biggie print a friend made. She did an amazing job. I can not say enough good things about Elizabeth. She will be my only go to for art work
Elizabeth is a skilled manipulator who comes off very friendly, but really only cares about the Almighty Dollar. She gets one star for being sneaky. I don't like sneaky; I don't think most people do. She did good work, but did not bother to inform me of the end cost prior to starting the job. Weeks after I dropped off the pieces and actually paid my bill, I noticed her original receipt had a handwritten note on it that said $641.49 minus $300 the deposit I provided = $341.49, which seemed reasonable and appropriate to me. A month went by and I called to check on my pieces and asked for an itemized bill, and lo and behold, my pieces were immediately finished and ready for pick up three relatively small pieces for the total sum of $1,115.85!!! I should have left the pieces with her instead of paying the balance. To feign to only charge $641.49 and, then, basically, almost double the price is a sure example of bait and switch. That amount is probably what I paid for all the prior framing up until that point in my life!! And I never received an itemized breakdown frame, glass, matting, stretching, LABOR. I would love to know how many hours of labor she actually spent on my pieces. I paid the remainder of my bill $815.85, but I was not a happy camper. Now I have three pieces to remind me of a very expensive negative experience. I will never have anything framed by a professional framer ever again, because it appears that they are all trying to make up for the shortfall of the pandemic. That should not be the customer's problem. No evidence of the supposed high cost of the frames themselves was ever provided. So unless you have money to throw away, I suggest you go to Michael's or the like and save a ton of money and have your framing done there. Not everybody is rich, Elizabeth. When I complained to her, she said she had told me what the final cost would be. That is not true, because IF SHE HAD, I would left with my undone pieces. I listen very carefully to what people say. She never gave me that final total. Wouldn't that amount take your breathe away? I think so. Good luck with that modus operandi.
So friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Was able to quickly narrow down the choices in frame options and matting. And the glass... Who knew how certain glass can sharpen or soften the view? Well, she did! Professional, not a long wait, and she even provides the hooks so all you need is your hammer when you get it home!
