If you want some decent Chinese food with the best quality & fresh ingredients, you definitely should come and check out this place. The price is great at what they offer. You also have options to make the steamed pot the main dish into vegan.
This is a Beijing royal style simmer pot which they cook the pot kinda like dry pot but you will see the entire process from the table. The sauce is passing is a hundred years old recipe that use to cook for the royal family of Chinese emperor. They had variety diff meat and also the best part is the dancing noodle.
Braise pot. Put vegetables at bottom of pot, layer up with different kinds of meat and seafood. Braise ten minutes and mix with their special sause. Good for 2-3 people share one pot. Taste good due to vegetables and meats pretty fresh. First beer is on the house, domestic or imported. Restroom is clean.
Overpriced and average We tried this place due to the hype and was quite disappointed. We ordered the surf / turf and fresh noodles. The surf / turf is almost veggies and a bit of meat and seafood. The shrimp was good. But the whole thing is saturated by a heavy sauce that prevents you from tasting anything. Basically, everything tastes the same - sauce. The service was average. We thought we can do the same if we buy the heavy sauce from 99 Ranch Market. Sorry, we are not coming back.
The flavor is great. It is quite interesting to watch the food get cookedsteamed at the table. The sauce might be abit heavy so pairing with rice or noodle will balance it.
Simmer in and have an amazing dinner or lunch from simmer Huang! We had the best amazinnnnn service where we had a wonderful server cooked everything for you and the secret was def in the sauce. We had mild spice and it was still quite spicy! I would def will be back!
It's a mix between steaming and boiling -- in Chinese it would be a "steamy pot". I don't recommend the shrimp, they put it in a bit early and it gets a little overcooked. Probably for food safety reasons. But the fish, cuttlefish, and frog are amaaaazing. Service is nice and courteous, definitely one of those places you can take your non Chinese friends, as a Chinese person.
Tried the seafood and meat bowl. Meats were not tender and shrimp wasn't fresh. Special sauce was OK but overall not satisfactory.
Very good taste and it is really worth to try and a five star restaurant!!!
The food was good and everything, but is it a place that's unique? Not really. The service we got was ok, and the yams with blueberries were kinda weird. The portions are surprisingly small each pot serves 1-2 persons only. The house sauce isn't spicy at all even the spiciest they have is a mild to me. I would go there again with friends, but not like a frequent visit.
