Kimberly McDonald, Owner of Simply Desserts is a self-taught baker who has many years of experience with all kinds of desserts. Kimberly started with cheesecakes, cookies and small pastries. While still a home-baker she had won several awards for her cheesecakes and realized she had a passion for her work and wanted to start a business of her own. Having only made custom cakes for family and friends, 8 years ago she decided to start Simply Desserts as a licensed home business and sell her custom cake creations to the public. Her business blossomed into more than her beautifully renovated kitchen could handle. With the business becoming so successful, in 2014 she decided to start the process of acquiring a storefront. After a few years of planning and searching the dream became a reality, finding the perfect place for a bakery, in the Promenade Virginia Gateway in Gainesville, VA. With the help of her fantastic employee's, the Simply Desserts storefront offers wedding cakes, custom cakes, cheesecakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more.
