Skaja Funeral Home helped us with my aunt's services and recently they helped with my dad's services. We truly are so grateful and happy that we chose them because they were so professional and helpful with everything. They were so compassionate with every detail. Kevin was great to work with and the whole team. Thank you so much for helping us have a last beautiful image of my dad. He looked exactly as how he was years back. His makeup was perfect. Thank you for everything.
Our family would like to thank Skaja Funeral Home for making the very difficult journey of saying goodbye to our beloved mother grandmother a peaceful and comforting one. You went above and beyond our expectations and our entire family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Jola and Ewa granddaughters
Thank you very much the entire staff of Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, especially to the Polish speaking Director Mark, who guided me with professionalism and empathy throughout the funeral preparing process. He gave me advice and helpful suggestions, so my friend’s visitation in an exceptionally clean and comfortable parlor, funeral mass with the specific music and songs I asked for through the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, and the ceremony at Maryhill Cemetery were prepared nicely. Mark even ordered the funeral luncheon for me. Every detail of the service was perfect. It was nice to have professional with the heart, who helped us, friends, during that difficult time.
Having to plan a funeral is one of the most stressful things one could experience however the staff at Skaja Funeral Home helped me and my family out and made the process very easy. Any questions I had were answered promptly and before I could come up with more questions they already had answers for me. Big thanks to a Gordon and Marek who updated me every step of the way and we’re very patient with all of our decisions. Thank you for making this difficult time a little easier. Fair prices, great staff.
I could not be more grateful for the amazing staff at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. My Grandmother passed away this last week and myself and my family could not have been happier with the two day event that they hosted for her. They helped my Mom, Aunt, Uncle and Grandpa put together a wake, funeral, graveside service, and luncheon that was so well thought out and beautiful; my Grandma would have loved it! Mark, the Director, was so attentive to helping us in every aspect of the arrangements and he was there lending his support through every hour of the two day event. My Grandma was a vision for her open casket ceremony; a dream that we were not sure would have been possible due to the battle she had through her final four months on this earth. How wonderful it was to see her finally at peace and done up just as she would have been in her earlier years; a memory I will forever hold near. Thank you again Skaja staff, and especially Mark, for helping us send my Grandma up to heaven in the best way possible; my family will be forever grateful.
When our loved one passed away six hours from home, we struggled with whether to have his remains taken care of locally, or whether to transport him home to be taken care of. The chaplain at the hospital recommended Skaja Terrace, as his own mother's funeral was handled there. So I called. Kevin spoke to me kindly, was straightforward, respectful, and helpful. After spreading to my hometown funeral home, who LAUGHED at me on the phone, I had no reservations in entrusting our loved one to Skaja Terrace.
Kevin made our experience so comfortable! My sister’s and I appreciate Kevin’s attention to detail, his kindness, and his authentic sincerity towards us! Thank you Kevin.
I was at the viewing of my friend Iast week. She was Caucasian. Her skin tone at the viewing was a ghastly ashen gray. I was shocked and mortified to see her look like this. I don't know what all goes into good mortuary makeup results and what contributes to having possibly darker skin. I think it is disrespectful to family and friends to not have a better skin tone if it was AT ALL POSSIBLE to do this. I don't want to remember my dear kind friend looking this way. I will make sure that no family member I bury ever looks like this.
It was shocking how terrible our experience was when we went to inquire about their services. The director Mark needs to seriously learn customer service basics, especially for such a sensitive industry. My mother ran out of there in tears, and we were right behind her after that experience. AWFUL.
When the person gets shot or dies because i lungs or something they put tooo much make up on that person and if they put make up on them and its falling off alot u can't touch the person no more
