My friend and I stopped here for lunch after checking out Chimney Bluffs State Park. The food was really great. I had the battered lake perch and lobster bisque soup and both were delicious. We had a nice view of the lake from inside and overall it was a really nice spot if you were craving seafood.Food: 5/5
Skipper's Landing is a nice restaurant located right on Sodus Bay that serves mostly sea food options for lunch and dinner. The food is delicious but on the expensive side and it's known for attracting alot of vacationers and retirees that can afford the higher price gouging. The inside is pretty big with lots of indoor dining but the downside is that you're practically on top of the group of people next to you and it's hard to be able to not concentrate on other people's conversations. They have a bar inside as soon as you walk in the door and there's an outdoor tiki bar that sells alcohol and provides live music from local artists that have minimal talent but still enjoyable. It's a great place to eat if you can afford it Parking: It gets very busy during peak dining hours and it's impossible to find good parking so most people park on the street. That makes it very hazardous and hopefully one day they will provide better parking.
We were visiting Chimney Bluffs state park and on our way back looked this place up. Restaurant offers some really amazing views. The staff was super friendly. Seems like a family owned business. We were in a hurry so staff accommodated us and served food really very quickly. The fish and chips were really good and fresh and the fries were really nice along with the tartar sauce. Good quality food. Ambiance: offer great natural lake views. Sitting area was good too. Parking Easily available beside restaurant.
Amazing food. Great prices. Beautiful atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Newly reopened, Skipper's Landing was super busy. Although we had to wait for an inside table to open up, we had a drink at the bar while we waited. The staff were all friendly and attentive, food was excellent, and we enjoyed a great evening out.Food: 5/5
Pleasantly surprised, looked like a local bar when I walked in the door! Passing thru town and Skipper’s Landing was open for dinner - I had the Scallop and Shrimp Linguine with Cajun Cream Sauce, it was FANTASTIC! Also ordered the loaf of fresh baked Italian bread with butter which was a delightful start to the meal. Loved the fire places for ambience and warmth - looks like it would be a great place to try in the summer as well.
Really nice RESTAURANT. Not a pub. Tremendous service. Staff are very very friendly and professional. Food was wonderful. My prime rib was the best I have had in a very long time. Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My soup was great as well. Wish the salad bar had been open but they really do everything to keep COVID-19 in check. All staff wearing masks and everything sanitized. The first place in the area to have hand sanitizer at the door.
We have been to Skippers several times. Staff and service are solid and we have always had a good meal. Prime rib is consistently tasty and the have gluten free pasta for my wife which is a plus. We have never had a poor meal there and the drinks are reasonable. I recommend this place.
We ate here twice in the past few weeks. Both times with a group of people. I had the charred Ribeye steak the first time. No flavor to the steak just charred. Was not impressed. The second time we were here I had the ribeye on bread but had the bread taken out. Who puts a 10oz steak on bread? And it's the only option on the menu for steak that's not charred other than prime rib that they were out of. Just about every meat they sell is charred. "Says to me they can't cook food without burning it." Anyway, this steak came cold. No joke, like luke warm and cold on one side. I ate it anyway and bam... No flavor. No salt or pepper or anything. Tasted like meat that was rinsed off. I chose salt potatoes for a side and they gave me 2 small potatoes that were boiled "not in salt" with clarified butter on them. "also with out salt." 4 other people got the Fettuccine Alfredo and couldn't eat it. It was way too salty and too much parmesan cheese to the point it was pasty and gritty. The menu is small and way over priced for the food taste and look. About half of the 16 people liked their food the second time we went. The first time was with 7 and 2 of us didn't like the food. This place is not worth the stop and definitely not worth the price. Bathrooms are small and we're clean at least. Parking: Dirt lot parking Wheelchair accessibility: Can easily go right in. No step up from what I can remember.
Had a great time. Arrived by boat and had a great burger and the live entertainment was absolutely great. Highly recommend Parking: Parked at the pier with my boat
