Skipper's River Cafe and Steamboat Marina

Cool and quirky on the Ohio River. We had dinner here and it was fun. There was live music that evening. We had a chicken salad, Grippos burger, and mozzarella sticks. Bloody Mary was good, your typical zing zang and some fixings. I also tried a pina colada and liked it but would try something else frozen the next time. Took away a star because the menu is limited. Service was great and friendly. Will be returning, even if it’s just for drinks.

Check their Facebook page if u want accurate hours of operation. We’re boaters and had almost given up on this location. But they’ve come back around. Service was great. Josie is a great bartender!! Good bar food. Perfectly cold bottled beers right on the verge of icy. Perfect place to be on a sunny day.

I came here on a Friday evening about an hour before sunset and absolutely loved watching the sun go down over the river. There is a nice, laid-back river-life ambiance. The food is very good and fairly priced. The crab-cakes were some of the best I've had anywhere. Ducks love to frequent the side of the boat and it is fun to throw fries to them and watch them all scramble for one. Overall, this is a great place to come for food, drinks, socializing, or just enjoying the river view.

Had a wonderful time. Great view the food is really good. Had a steak hoagie but should have tried a cheeseburger. I was in a wheelchair so wasn't sure how I was going to get in there. The owner Skipper came out to the car helped me into my chair and rolled me in and after lunch was over took me back out. Talk about service!! I was so impressed and very happy he went out of his way to help out

We only saw Skipper's from the lovely bench on Susanna street, nice boat dock / ramp and landing. Will be back for lunch happy hour says they are open until 2:30 am. We could not hear voices or music from below.

It was awesome! Its the cutest little cafe/sports bar on the water. We loved it! We had the pretzel bites and a margaritas! It was great!

We enjoyed a very relaxing dinner on Monday, August 15. The food was of good quality and cooked fresh. Also, these people are honest. I got home and realized that I left my credit card there. I phoned them and they confirmed they had it and I picked it up the next evening. Honesty goes a long way with me. My family will definitely be back.

What a great place, right on the Ohio River! Great Service, Great Eats, and a nice selection of Cold Beer and Cocktails. Family Friendly Atmosphere.

This place has great atmosphere , good customer service, live music and great scenery of the ohio river. I would NOT recommend the food although. I ordered a steamboat burger , which was the size of a McDonalds cheeseburger priced at 10.99 , stale chips and a rubbery pickle. Everything was satisfactory except for the food .
