Horrible experience with konstantinova and Antoine. I had a sleep study a few months ago. I recieved a diagnosis she wrote a prescription. I made a follow up appointment which got canceled last minute because she was sick. There were appointments made and canceled without my knowledge, which sounds suspect as if there is some type of scam going on. So far she cancelled 5 appointments, 2 of these appointments were made without my knowledge. I contacted her several times to refill my prescription and to talk to them about my concerns, i recieved no response after sending request via Mychart and calling office, my pharmacy tried calling several times as well, nothing. The girl in the office is rude and always tells me the doctors are not in or she with a patient, or out sick. I gave up. Please don't waste your time, find somewhere else to go. They do not care about their patients. THEY ARE SCAMMERS
I agree that doctor is good, and the 2 tech who does the sleep lab. But the way they charge and talk to patients about service fee and all they can not explain clearly.Very rude in saying they can not provide service unless you pay! Money is not all the issue and the way they talk to patients is very poor . And threatens to say they will send to to credit whatever. To the accountant or whoever in charge. Pls. Be mindful how you and other staff talk to patients, you will be loosing patients , with how your account staff and front desk people. They represent the center and i hope they ate re - educated how to talk to patients and disclose to patients of all the charges when the questions are asked for what all the charges are for even when asked politely. Yes they let you wait in the waiting for 45 minutes to 1 hour. And yes the bathroom is dirty. Its shady i believe how they are charging! they want money first, even without explaining for what the charges are for.
Be careful with your bills from here. I paid for half of my sleep study in the office and I guess they did not include my name on the payment, so they sent me a bill trying to charge me again. Also the take home sleep study was useless. Staff was unclear about procedures, unprofessional, and I was quoted a specific amount multiple times from different people but received a bill doubling that charge because no one bothered to tell me you are charged nightly for the take home sleep study. No, this has nothing to do with insurance. Place was also dirty and felt gross to even be in. If I ever have to do an in lab study I wouldn't trust this practice whatsoever. Edit: 4 weeks later they sent me a bill that I had already paid AGAIN. Luckily billing was nice and helpful. Wouldn't expect to deal with this from any place that claims to be professional, nonetheless medical.
While the Dr. was nice, they have shady practices and poor customer service. During my appointment to pick up a home test, I sat for 45 min in the waiting room. When I asked what the hold up was after seeing 2 people who came in after go in before me, the rude receptionist said Oh I'm sorry I forgot you. After that appointment I noticed from logging into My Chart that I had a future appointment set up by them to which no one bothered to call me to ask if the days/times were even ok. If I didn't log into My Chart I wouldn't even know about the apt. I called to reschedule. On the day of that appt. the receptionist called to confirm and to get payment for the test that was needed. I confirmed, but confused I asked what payment is needed? She said $500. While I knew I had a deductible to still meet for my ins., not one person there bothered to tell me I'd need $500 for this test that day. Shocked I said, I don't have that kind of money to give you and no one told me I needed that amt today, so I guess I'm not going to be able to do this test. Then the girl tells me that if I cancel they will charge me $250 for canceling. I said, you've got to be kidding me...for your lack of communication to patients I refused and I asked for a manager and of course I was told they weren't there. How convenient. I told them I will not pay it. Shady shady practices. How many others did they not tell and charge them. They ended up billing me for it, but I won't be paying it. I also sent them a message through My Chart and see that it was viewed by them, but no response. its been weeks.
Called 3 time to make appt.put on hold for close to ten minutes each time so I hung up. After reading all of these negative reviews I decided not to pursue this option.
I agree with the previous poster. I went to this clinic, with full insurance, but cancelled my appointment before going through with it, as they were unable to make the costs of their services transparent to the patient me or to my insurance company, despite many phone calls and 2 in-person visits. They wanted a credit card to keep on file because they said they had patients default on payments in the past - a big red flag to me, indicating that people were unprepared or unaware of the total costs. I was informed about the 10% fee of costs not covered by insurance under my plan, and the 50% equipment fee, but for neither of these fees could I get an estimate in writing! The office staff were unfriendly. I left the office feeling like I was negotiating at a seedy used car lot, not at a professional medical facility, so I cancelled my appointment. I will look elsewhere for care.
I had the worse experience w/ this place. Firstly, I was informed that with my insurance that my patient visits and testing was covered with a $30 co-pay. So I quickly scheduled my sleep studies and had all my testing done. I later received a bill in excess of $700. The office denied telling me that the cost of testing was a $30 co-pay. I was then put in contact with the billing office. The woman I spoke with was extremely rude....EXTREMELY. She quickly checked my invoice and confirmed that I was responsible for a $700+ bill. She even told me that I should be happy that I have health insurance because she doesn't have any herself. I kid you not! I asked why an estimated cost of testing was not submitted to the insurance. She stated that that was not their responsibility. Because I was on a tight budget I agreed to a payment arrangement. Shortly thereafter, when my results were analyzed and reported, I was required to make another office visit to discuss results. I asked if I could discuss the results over the phone, however my request was denied. Also the doctor would not see me unless I paid a third of my outstanding $700+ bill. So I complied and returned to the office desparately hoping for an answer to my medical condition. Of course, I had to pay another $30 co-payment. And clearly this visit was so that they could bill my insurance and generate more income for the office. At my visit I was told nothing was wrong with me and was referred to a psychiatrist. The doctor implied that I was a drug seeker and stated that she would not prescribe medication as she did not want to compromise her license. She recommended that I just take afternoon naps . THAT'S ALL THAT I DO! I FALL ASLEEP EVERYWHERE! I fall asleep in my car, during meetings, and even in the middle of conversations including those with my boss. Dumbfounded, I left the office furious. I later saw a highly revered sleep specialist who wanted to repeat the sleep study as there were some concerns with the results. I informed my new doctor that I couldn't afford another study. My doctor had significant concerns with the severity of my somnolence and immediately prescribed medication. I am happy to report that I have found major relief with w/ my treatment plan and am now able to function without falling asleep everywhere. Please DO NOT go to this place. Every review I have read about this place has described a similar experience. This is one of the top 2 worse medical experiences that I have ever had. The other being a doctor forgetting me in the examination room for more than 2 hours. For the love of God, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! They deliberately do not inform their patients of the costs of procedures and try every way that they can to bill the insurance. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Dr Konstantinova is the BEST doctor around New Haven! She is warm, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable! Her staff are thorough, the facility spotless, and their communication skis are tops!
Five years of being taken financially by this place. Finally found a new provider and learned that, no, I don't have to go back every three or six months. A year's fine. And, no, the new place doesn't provide the equipment; it has to go through a DME. The tests, the visits, the equipment -- much of it highly questionable. Loved the doctor. The receptionist in Hamden is a bore and obviously bored with her job. The technician hung up on me twice this week while I was trying to get a mistake she made rectified. I managed to talk to the Managing Director so the Hamden office wanted to know "who gave you her number because we're not supposed to give it out." Hint: wasn't you jamokes. Oh, what a waste of five years and so much money!
The service was prompt and professional. The staff was able to make appointments for me that were very convenient and fit my schedule perfectly. The doctor was knowledgeable. She explained the condition, testing and treatment perfectly.
