Smith mountain lake is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the skies. Although the runway is on the smaller side, the secluded lakeside airport is a beautiful place for all levels of pilots. I've had many negative experiences with training programs in the past and the instructors here are by far the most pleasant to learn from. I highly recommend this airport to anyone looking for a casual flight or and productive lesson.

Man. To fly and land this close to the lake for only 15 a night to store your plane, that is awesome..runway appears to be in great shape, not too bad on air traffic. Plane sitd outside, only 15 minutes from roanoke airport.
