Smithville Fire Department was established in February of 1921. In 1989 the tax payers voted to form the Smithville Area Fire Protection District. The Fire District covers 112 square miles. Please click the about button below to learn more about us.
The Smithville Area Fire Protection District covers 112 square miles which encompasses parts of both Platte and Clay Counties. Within the 112 square miles the Fire District also covers the City of Smithville, and the communities of Ectonville, Paradise and Hoover. The Fire District also covers the majority of Smithville Lake.
