Me and my girlfriend stopped in for lunch. So glad we did. Good service and great food. My girlfriend commented that it was the best tasting food she has ever had. Which is saying a lot. She usually will let me sample her meal. Not this time. Too good to share, I guess. It's a shame this place is like 80 miles from me, or I would go there quite a bit.
We tried this place because of the reviews. The food was very good! I got the three chicken enchiladas with beans & rice. Very tasty for sure, but I was a little disappointed with the size of the enchiladas though. They were very small, but the taste was surprisingly delicious. The beans were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. My wife got the steak fajitas with the beans & rice and she said it was delicious. The tortilla shells were very small as well. The salsa was different, you actually have four choices. We got the two lighter heat level ones and the second one was two hot for me and I like some heat. So seeing that they charge for the chips & salsa be careful what you order. The chips were pretty good too, just right, not too thin and not too thick, just right. They do come with a little seasoning sprinkled on them. We had a very nice girl that waited on us, very sweet. Yes, we would come back again, as I said the taste was worth it, just wished the proportion of the enchiladas was slightly more.
We stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday about 3pm. It was not busy at all and the host tried to sit us at a dirty high top table along the far right wall. I couldn't sit there since I'm short and the table was so ridiculously high. I felt like I'd be a kid trying to eat at the adult's table. We moved into a booth by the front door and bar. We had a nice view of the televisions in the bar and it was much more comfortable. The chips have some kind of spice mix sprinkled on them and were almost too spicy for my husband to eat. He had to pick around and find some with little to no spice on them. Other than those two small things, the rest of the meal was great! The guacamole, salsa verde, queso dip, steak quesadilla, and shrimp tacothe March special were all wonderful. I would come here again...but just ask if we could get the tortilla chips plain.
Came in for a quick bite and service was very gast for a fast Saturday night. Our waiter / bar staff were helpfulFood: 5/5
Really lovely food and margaritas. Good service. A bit pricey though. Good for a large group out or a few friends. I'd go back. Vegetarian options: Need to label the vegetarian dishes more clearly.
This is my favorite Mexican lunch restaurant in Bloomington. It is "high end" Mexican and not the usual americanized refried beans and tacos. Lots of fresh ingredients and herbs and interesting dressings. My favorite dish is the stuffed avocado- it is my go-to dish- I've never had anything like it anywhere else and I look forward to it! The taco choices are interesting and fun. The only thing I'd change is to have free chips and salsa instead of an extra charge Parking: It is on the square with no dedicated parking available.
Food was ok, portions on bowls were smaller than expected. Tried it, probably won't go back.Food: 3/5
Great location and atmosphere. We ordered the avocado tacos, mushroom taco, shrimp Thai taco. Good vegetarian options. Friendly staff. Service was quick. The bathroom was clean. I would recommend eating here.Food: 5/5
Didn't really consider it Mexican cuisine more of an upscale American twist of Mexican. They had tacos so ‍. The atmosphere was nice, it's a college town, so more in that age range was present. Bar and kitchen were a little slow but someone said the kitchen is shared with the restaurant next door, so that may have been the issue. It wasn't terrible but probably wouldn't visit again. However, the social nachos were fabulous and would highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free items available
My family had a great visit. I wish the drink wasn't so sweet but food and service were great! Barbecue sauces are meh, but again the meats make up for that. Cool atmosphere as well. Vegetarian options: All good to eat here. Parking: Difficult only when an event at IU.
