The ice skating rink at SomerSplash is by far my favorite. It is real ice with fire pits and a concession stand for snacks and hot drinks. They clean the ice in between time slots. It is $15 for about 1.5 hour of skating including your skates. You can also bring your own skates. Benches beside the ice to relax and rest if needed. An awesome experience locally without having to drive to Lexington.
It's alright for the family! Fun but really not impressed on it's size! Smaller compared to the other water parks I've been too! Overall, it's well worth the money and time to make memories with the family! The Concession Stand was slow! Standing in line for an hour to order food is ridiculous but due to lack of employees I understand! Especially since there was barely kids old enough to be teenagers working!
We were at our family cabin on Lake Cumberland and drove down for the day and had a blast! My daughter was still a bit young and timid about large amounts of water splashing her.... Especially her face. She warmed up to it and tried the slide but the big bucket was getting her lol. Towards the end of the day she got through one or two passes but that was progress for us. We couldn't really enjoy anything else because it was about the kids but we had a blast! I loved that the area was shallow and there were tons of things for all kids to use and have experiences with no more how comfortable they were with water. I am so looking forward to going here again this summer because I know she'll have a blast! I do remember the lines for food being extremely long and not looking that part of it lol.
We give this water park a 10 out of 10 We 2 moms drove over an hour to get here with 4 boys . Reasonable prices for treats and clean NOT crowded on a Tuesday .
We went through the week and it was fairly crowded but not overly crowded. Boys had a blast while I and my true Bestie sat in 100 weather so they could enjoy it. Concern stands was hopping fairly fast seems everyone had a good time. Grounds was kept clean not enough people to keep the garage cans from over flowing.
The kids and I always have a blast here. There were a few areas of the Park closed this year so the fact that they were still charging full price kind of made it seem unfair but all in all it's a great place to get some sun, and cool off all at the same time.
First the good. Pools were clean and well maintained. Additionally the life guard staff was alert and responded as needed to keep things orderly in an often chaotic environment. The bathrooms are horrible. My wife took my granddaughter in as we were prepping to go. Most of the stalls had no TP. Most of the showers did not work and the one that did was set to a temperature that more closely resembles molten lava making it too dangerous to use. Additionally, it took an hour to get food even with only a few people in line. Cannot say we will be back.
I've not been to the water park since it opened years ago and it was fantastic. I rented a cabana #15 which was great and made the experience even better cause I was able to spend it with my friends in a more private setting. Super fun for everyone. Food great, service great. The whole place is great.
I had great fun with my family here! Kids will love it; there's a ton of stuff available for them. For the adults, they've got a great lazy river : You get used to the water temp quickly too, so that's a bonus.
Loved the ice skating experience! It's totally different for somerset to have a ice skating rink. For 4 of us not sure if they charged for the 4yr old or not it was $63 but that's the cost of skates. They don't say anything about renting the little seal & reindeer for the little kids. So you go up to skate & would assume they're there for use. But not unless you rent them. Not sure on price. They also offer helmets for free which I would suggest doing bc my 19 yr old daughter fell back and hit her head on the ice pretty bad. I'd suggest bundling up too because as obvious as it should be, it's very cold. The concession stand is very good, they have tables with a fire pit & hot chocolate. A cute little shop in there as well.
