The OSC works with the Commissions for Women, Human Rights, and Multicultural Affairs as well as with the City's LGBT Liaison. We promote the City's 40 commissions, committees and boards in the community.
Residents are recruited to commissions, participate in programs and attend commission events such as the annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration or the annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Candlelight Vigil. We also provide information important to commission goals ranging from women's and humans rights issues to housing and LGBT initiatives. Joining a commission is part of a community-based government.
