Let the South Padre KOA be your island paradise!

Description

Bring the Big Rig (pull-thru sites available up to 98 feet long, 30/50 AMP at every site). No RV? No problem! We have cabins, condos, and tent sites. Book today at 800-562-9724 or reserve on this website. Be sure to check out our photo albums and LIKE us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SouthPadreKOA.

Summer is our busiest time of year and reservations are essential between mid-June and mid-August. In summer, weekend activities for the kids include yummy s'mores by the fire, fun craft projects, ice cream sundae parties, big screen outdoor movies, and more. Don't forget Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark (right across from our park) and family fun at the beach (just one-quarter mile away).

Winter can be very busy (especially January and February). We offer fantastic winter activities such as sunset socials with live music, theme parties like our tropical luau, and so much more. We celebrate the holidays with free festive feasts on Thanksgiving and Christmas. January and February will likely be fully booked, so please book early for these months. We recommend calling in April to secure a site for the following winter.

We offer a wide variety of RV site types; from Regal Row sites overlooking the Laguna Madre Bay (with decks and patios), to nice back-in patio sites, to long pull-thrus. Rates include everything: 30/50 AMP electric, water, sewer, cable TV, and WiFi. We also feature many cabin styles; from waterfront cabins right on the bay (sleep 6), to loft cabins (sleep 8), to tiny house studios (sleep 4). All fully furnished. Just bring your food, drinks, and beach towel and you are ready for fun.

On-site amenities include a favorite island eatery, Pier 19 Restaurant & Bar. There is also Osprey Cruises at our KOA docks with fishing and sightseeing trips. Don't forget our 25-meter pool, large hot tub, fitness center, children's sandy playground, and a play area for your furry friends. Have fun and stay fit with Zumba classes, Aqua Zumba classes, floor aerobics, and pool aerobics. Groups love our meeting space (with kitchen area). Have some fun in our Commons recreation hall, or meet your friends on the deck overlooking the bay to enjoy the golden sunsets.

South Padre Island has a wide variety of entertainment options including deep-sea or bay fishing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, parasailing, dolphin watching, birding and nature walks, or lazy strolls on sandy beaches.

Whether you want to relax on your site or in your cabin, join in the park activities, or explore the island, this KOA is your ideal home base.

Don't wait another minute! Call today at 800-562-9724 or book your reservations on this website.

Top on our list of KOA Parks to stay. Very clean and tidy sites. Friendly helpful staff from the registration workers, to store staff, to the grounds workers. Staff all are very attentive and diligent in their always being available for help or assistance. Accommodating & Relaxing atmosphere. Very close to many amenities of shopping, eating, entertainment or relaxing at the beach. Maybe consider a long term stay to encounter all there is to enjoy about this wonderful park and all it has to offer for South Padre Island....
Great location, especially the cabins overlooking the bay with the Spacex assembly building and launch pads in the background. The entire team is very accommodating. We go twice a year since 2016. One of the best properties in the KOA system.Rooms: 5/5
Extremely expensive. It is clean, well maintained, and has great views. However, the staff is unknowledgeable and a few were very rude. They have staff patrolling the grounds and it made me uncomfortable. It felt like I was being watched at all times. I didn't feel comfortable to even sit outside to tan without old men in golf carts constantly driving by my space. Then there was a reservation issue and it was not handled appropriately.
We decide to have Thanksgiving in SPI with another family for a week. We booked in advance on the KOA app. We arrived after hours and our paperwork was ready for us and a staff member still helped us locate our spots in very rainy conditions. The sites are nice, we selected a back-in site with full hookups and patio. The following day after check-in we asked the front desk if we could change to a different spot since we had two families camping together, and they were very accommodating. The pool and hot tub are open year-round and cleaned twice a day, kids were there often. There is an outdoor play area and an inflatable trampoline type thing for the kids. There is a common area with a TV, ping pong table, and board games. There is no pier bar/restaurant anymore, but there is a boat ramp for KOA register users to use. You are about a mile walk to Isla Blanca Park to access the beach, as there is no direct shore/sand access at the KOA. Compared to the other options we saw, next time we come to the area we will definitely come back and stay at the KOA again. Their sites are well maintained and the facility is relatively clean compared to the other city/county park we looked at while at the beach. It was not that busy there, but the weather was also rainy and dreary for the first few days.
Stayed in a villa. Showed up late and even was escorted by an employee to where we were staying. Just 2 of us and was designed for, I believe 6. Quiet, peaceful, and convenient. Staff was friendly, and the accommodations were great. We did not take advantage of anything else the park had going on, but it looked fun New Years Eve party enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come here again.
My spacenerd wanted to see Space-X while we were traveling through Texas, and this was the perfect spot to stop and stay. We really loved the multi-use spot for camping and everything was extremely clean and well managed. We'll be back!
Overall this place is great. The staff is very helpful and nice, the views are great and the location is close to everything. We really enjoyed the views of the bay and SpaceX on the other side right out of our front window. Some of the sites are very tight, if they say follow me and make a wide turn you should go check it out first. We have a 41' Class A motorhome, went to site 120 first, was a long pull thru site, but VERY narrow, VERY tight. We took an opportunity after one night to move to site 110 as we were afraid if anyone pulled in behind, to the side or in front we would be stuck until they moved. Once we moved into site 110 we became very happy, relaxed and enjoying the camp ground. The sites are gravel but level, full hook-ups. We had car wash people coming buy everyday, we actually opted to have our coach and jeep cleaned by Garcia Mobile Wash, they did an amazing job. Full wash and wax for both was $180.00, really good deal compared to the last place we went. We camped at South Padre Island KOA Holiday in a Motorhome Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs here. Picnic area: Most sites had a patio and chairs setup.
Campsite is good. My only complaint is the mobile RV washers that are aloud to drive around in circles looking for travel trailers to wash in load vans waking people up at 8am in the mornings.
Don't rent the cabins. They are not Deluxe and are not as described. I emailed complaint and request for a partial refund as my adult children checked out a day early due to less than desirable accomodations. No response after several messages in a week, even after stopping by offices and being assured manager was aware. Book hotel rooms, much cheaper and closer to the ocean.
Staff are so helpful and friendly. Weekly activities. Very clean park on a beautiful property on the water. Lovely sunsets and bird watching within the park. Busy and crowded koa like most. Easy access to the beach, restaurants and bars. Bike friendly. Free bus runs the whole island. Pick up and drop off just outside the koa. Would definitely come back. So far my favourite koa.
