We absolutely love Tarpon RV Park!!! The manager, Bob, is amazing! He’s very helpful and accommodating. We have plenty of room for our 40ft Class A and our tower SUV. Our family has been made to feel very welcome here, including my 3 children! I was leery based on the other reviews but I am so glad we took a chance! It’s quiet and friendly, they don’t put up with a bunch of nonsense and I like that! I feel safe here and I can let my kids play outside without fear. The park is small and right on the “finger”. The fishing is great! There is a nice clubhouse where we have get togethers. It’s nice to use a full size oven sometimes!! We’ve had a blast and actually stayed longer than we intended in the beginning! We’ve decided we will be staying here for the foreseeable future. Tarpon RV Park is where your treated like family!! We are fulltime RVers and we’ve been traveling the country for several years and this is one of the friendliest parks we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at!!!
I lived here for 5 long painful years. The park manager trapped and had my cat put down. I have a letter where he even admits to it! No shame. He likes you one day, on his meds then pink slips you the next day. No parking, no clubhouse available for residents use, dirty public bathrooms. No refund on electric deposit. Avoid this place. The manager has mistreated and thrown out disabled veterans for no cause!!
The manager Bob is a theif, reads the Electric meters and charge's you more than what you use. Keeps all his trash in the clubhouse and says it under remodel so you can't use it, washer and dryer can't use because it doesn't work. If you loose the key it will cost you $200 hundred for a replacement, he and his ex-wife Martha was stilling from Don Blanton the owner. Oh and another thing watch out for if you're not part of his Gossip team and Sladeris buddy's he will give you an eviction notice. Be aware of his elmer fudd look alike personality.
Let me start by saying I did not stay here, I was just passing by on my way to the Island and needed to fill my fresh water tank, which I got denied on the previous RV Park. Even though the office was close I called the number and a man answer. I ask him if I could fill my fresh water tank and he said yes. After been denied on the previous RV Park it felt like I won the lottery lol. From what I saw / experienced the staff was friendly even though the office was close and the RV Park was very clean no trash outside.
I called & asked if there were monthly stays available. He then asked me if I had kids, he said I can’t stay there because I have kids.. I told him they’re both infants, they won’t be any trouble and he said no I can’t let you stay here: when I asked “why? “ he rudely responded with “mam I don’t have to tell you why I don’t allow kids” … after reading the past reviews I’m glad I did not stay here ! I could not imagine being in the presence of a man who assaults women when they’re alone in their RVs.
This could really be best kept secret RV park in the entire area - it is the right size & in right location; shopping & restaurants are all walking or biking distance yet the park is tucked away in a quiet corner, right by the water. Unfortunately however is suffers from being very poorly managed. I think I would rather spend a night or two in the local Walmart parking lot than go here again. Really too bad as it has a great deal of potential.
Tarpon RV Park and Marina is a very nice place to dock your boat. The park is small and most of the Space's have long term tenets. It is very quiet and has a fishing dock. There are Space's for short term.
The website to this rv park is very misleading. definitely NOT a destination vacation spot. Spend a little more and go to the KOA $980 a month or Isla Blanca Park $470 a month on the island. Old run down perminately parked rvs, zero water pressure turned on the sink and can't even rince off a fork. Water spurts out for a second and then stops for 3 or 4 seconds, and very rude guy on golf cart. Actual park is extremely small. No room for larger motor homes or 5th wheels. No grass, very little shade, mostly gravel. only certain rvs can see the water which is fenced off so u couldn't get to it anyway. Also Make sure u don't have kids cause u won't be allowed to even visit anyone on the property. 55 and older only! This place is a joke.
Bob the owner is a lovely man, park is clean and reasonably well maintained. Great bunch of people living here too.
The guy who takes care of the place is a joke. They are not friendly in that park, just pulled out camper out of there. Bad roads to the place. Just bad business all around!
