On 8/22/22, I took my two french bulldogsJudah and Zuri to Southeast Animal Hospital because they both had a snotty nose and internal sneezing. The vet prescribes them both cortisone shots and antibiotics, he never tells me what they had but when I called back they advised that it was an upper respiratory infection that was contracted at the doggy daycare from the previous week. The next day my smaller frenchie, Zuri, who is only 10 months old and 20lbs, threw up a total of 8 times due to the antibiotics. I looked at the antibiotics and Zuri was prescribed the higher mg amoxicillin at 250 mg, when it should’ve been prescribed to Judah who is 2 years old at 35lbs. Due to her throwing up excessively and not eating we had to go back to the vet where they switched Judah’s medicine to Zuris and gave Zuri a different antibiotic at a lower dosage only 50 mg. The initial visit total was $238, you would think coming in the next day that the vet wouldn’t charge you because of their mistake with mixing up the medications. They actually charged us another $82 for Zuris new antibiotics and a cernia injection that was caused because they prescribed the dogs the wrong medications. I spoke to the manager about the situation and they didn’t want to agree to any type of refund or discount towards our visit nor did they want to own up to their mistakes as doctors. I have attached the initial medications vs the new medications showing the huge mistake they made with my frenchie’s medications. Southeast Animal Hospital used to be my go to but once a mistake like this happens causing harm to my pets I don’t feel comfortable bringing them anymore. Customer service also doesn’t seem to be a priority for Southeast Animal Hospital.
Dr. Homer and the technicians are amazing and kind! My baby Lenore was ill and now she is good as new thanks to them! I even had a lovely young lady call some time after the visit in order to get a status update on Lenore. The staff is a blessing and I am grateful for them. Also, I read the negative reviews and from what I gathered the complainants are unfounded. First, You are supposed to arrive to your appointment on time. If you have to wait to be seen because you didn’t show up on time then that’s on you. Be grateful if the Doctor can still see you despite taking up and wasting the time in his schedule. Maybe call first and reschedule. Second, this is a GENERAL PRACTICE. This is not an emergency clinic. Be thankful if the Doctor has time to see your pet in between other appointments. If he doesn’t then you need to be understanding that the doctor is very busy and probably has already accepted other emergencies before you decided to show up without calling. Third, this vet is affordable and they accept care credit! In an ideal world pet health care would be free. Vets and Technicians have mouths to feed and need to keep a roof over their heads. In order to do so they need to charge money. Unfortunately, having a pet is a luxury. Save up money. Finally, the Veterinarians are not rude or disrespectful. They’re overworked and stressed. I can imagine it must be difficult to keep a happy face on after attending to sick/dying pets and putting pets to sleep all of the time. Vets do not spend over a decade in school just for clients to claim that “The vet hates my pet!” They love animals more than the average person. The hardest part is that unlike human patients, an animal patient can’t tell the doctor what’s wrong. The vet just has to know what’s wrong. Have some compassion. I’m sick of the entitlement and disrespect. The staff and Vets deserve better. Next time I go I will bring a gift. :›
I came a month ago for 1 of my dogs who needed tick and flea mess they were able to get me in same day. I was very impressed and the staff was so kind. Then today I called so that we could have our dog's dew claw looked it she ripped if off and was babbing her paw. They were booked and I went ahead and took the appointment on Monday morning. Then 20 minutes later the employee who I spoke with called me back for an appointment TODAY! We jumped at the opportunity and were so greatful they remembered and wanted to help take care of our sweet our baby. Thanks so much team!
I've been going here for years to take my two bunnies to get their nails trimmed and a bikini wax. They cater to exotics as well!! Very reasonable
The worker Nancy at this location is completely unprofessional and extremely rude. She called us back to our phone number after disconnecting our call just to wait for us to answer then hang up on us. We then called back and asked to speak with a manager which she then claimed to be, then later in the disagreement ended up stating who the real manager is. So rude and unprofessional, clearly needs to be retrained on customer service.
This place is awesome! The vet tech was so super nice, calm, patient, helpful and caring! And the vet, Dr. Homer is the absolute BEST! He explained things to us, was super patient with our puppy, was so gentle and he is so wise. We enjoyed meeting him, speaking with him, and listening to his stories! We have now scheduled both of our doggies to go there! Highly recommend!
Amazing staff very friendly. I have never met a vet that cares so much about every animal that comes in as if it is his own. We will be coming here for years to come.
I have been taking my dogs here for a few years as walk ins and with appointments. My cat got bit my a dog and I called too let them know I was otw as a walk in. Receptionist told me they don’t take walk-ins and told me they had availability 4 days later. I have never had anyone turn an animal away. She seemed bothered she had to help me figure something out. Receptionist was short, rude and unhelpful.
Don't recommend!!!! 1st time trying this and ended up Paying $83 for a hair cut, nail trim and ducts and got our baby with cuts scrapes, still her nails long and now she cry's in her sleep, is scared to take a showers and hide's! You can see dates on the pictures it's only been 6 days not cool at all!!!
Very reasonable rates. Did an excellent job on my Charlie’s cherry eye. Thank your team very much
