I recently had the pleasure of visiting Southland Credit Union, and I must say that the experience was beyond exceptional! I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff. However, it was the Arlene's genuine enthusiasm and eagerness to assist that truly stood out. She took the time to listen attentively to my financial needs and patiently answered all my questions, making sure I had a clear understanding of the services and offered. What impressed me the most was her extensive knowledge and expertise in the banking industry. Not only did she effortlessly handle my account-related inquiries, but they also provided valuable insights and suggestions to optimize my banking needs. Her proactive approach in offering solutions tailored to my needs went above and beyond my expectations. Her friendly demeanor and positive attitude created a welcoming atmosphere, making me feel valued as a customer. Overall, my experience at Southland Credit Union exceeded all expectations. Their professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care for customers make them a standout in the banking industry. I highly recommend this branch and its exceptional team to anyone seeking personalized financial assistance and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Southland Credit Union truly has a gem of an Assistant Bank Manager, and they have earned my trust and loyalty as a customer. Kudos to the entire team for maintaining such a high standard of service!
If you're going to do business with SCU, avoid the Los Alamitos branch. The employees are AMAZING, but the manager at the Los Alamitos branch is a poor and embarassing representation of 20+ years of amazing customer service that has kept our family with SCU for so long. While my mother--who like all of my family has accounts at SCU--was in hospice, this ignorant, rude manager could not have been more insensitive and in fact, made some very inappropriate and inaccurate comments regarding my mother. In addition, he internally processed transactions that, while entirely legal, were executed with zero communication prior--which is exactly the type of VULGAR and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior that is typical from this horrible excuse for a human being that they allow to function in a management position. Any other representative of SCU would have, and has always, been responsible, ethical and professional and handled family illnesses over the years with sensitivity--something that the Los Al manager is entirely incapable of, as he is nothing but offensive, vulgar, and the reason I will soon be closing all of my accounts and advising my family members to do the same. It's actually quite appalling how business during my mother's illness was handled by this professionally and socially deficient individual--not because anyone expects better from him, but because EVERYONE ELSE at SCU is so opposite. 20+ years of amazing service has been erased by his rude and inconsiderate actions, and has sent a very clear message that my family is NOT valued at SCU, but instead just amusement for this angry, petty little man's need to be malicious. IN RESPONSE TO SOUTHLAND CREDIT UNION'S REPLY: IF YOUR BRANCH MANAGER'S VILE BEHAVIOR OF MAKING A JOKE OUT OF MY MOTHER'S CANCER IS YOUR IDEA OF HOW YOU TAKE THINGS SERIOUSLY, THEN THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER TO DISCUSS.
I’ve had this bank for a few years now as my primary bank and love it! Everyone at the Los Al branch is always so helpful. I had refinanced my car here and knew nothing, but they made the process easy to understand. I’ve also opened a second joint savings account. Even my boyfriend couldn’t believe what a simple process it was, without trying to scam us into signing up for things we didn’t need like the big banks do. Love this bank, and I’ll never leave it.
Just delt with the manager a male Asian at the Los Alamitos location. He is angry person. He got angry at me for looking at him while the new teller and another female were going very slow. As I looked at the manager, he asked me if I have a problem. I said, I'm enjoying this. Then when I still looked at him, he came over and said, I can go to my own bank and that I needed to clam down. I said you clam down, you came over here to escalate this, then I told him to shut up and give me back my card and check. Unprofessional coward.
Wonderful experience! The tellers are friendly & helpful. I never waited more than 5 minutes at the Los Alamitos branch. I got a personal loan, & it was approved within 24 hrs. Love this credit union. It is the best place I have ever done banking. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating! I highly recommend Southland Credit Union.
It's a rather unreliable credit union. I will switch accounts soon to a new place, as they charge for simple asks, not to mention they canceled my debit card due to suspected fraud and never notified or sent me a new card until I called them!
We always had Chase. We still have them just because they are very accessible. But with all major business transactions such as separate car loans for me and my husband, we chose Southland. Los Alamitos branch has amazing people. Phong, has been taking good care of us. He made it easy for me to understand the process and gave us the best plans that suit our budgets and lifestyle.
Ditched my bank for Southland CU about 6 months ago. Best decision I’ve ever made. People like Erick M, Harut, and Phong make the place a great experience while providing great customer service. If you’re considering switching I highly recommend SCU. Thank you guys.
What kind P.O.S. credit union still automatically takes your money when you’re insurance AND GAP pays them out. On top of that they show no care for the client and did not even drop the amount that they said I owed, even AFTER they took the money?!? Never using them again.
After spending all day on the phone with my bank I finally found out that this credit union didnt send over my check deposit from their use of the co op atms. I am beyond furious. I have had the buck passed on to me so many times that i finally called the business that sent me the check and THEY WERE MORE HELPFUL THAN SOUTHLAND. If you are not going to participate in the co-op atm network RIP THAT STICKER OFF YOUR ATM!
