Great place to sit, relax, and read a book; or just simply catch up on some homework. I brought my family here during an event and it was a FANtastic experience for us all. We checked out some books as well, so we'll definitely be going back for some more action.
The brightest gem in the Southmost community; highly recommened for everyone to stop by and see everything they have to offer.
Good help, loved the atmosphere. Plus overall
Little gem hidden just behind a loud street. I normally go to the Central Branch because of school and I want to avoid my classmates at the university to study in peace but for some reason I decided to try out the South most branch. The workers were beyond nice and helpful. The place is smaller yet exudes a more peaceful environment. Would definitely recommend if you need a quiet for whatever reason.
My kids love to go to the library . The librarians are so nice they make u feel welcomed and they are so helpful. My kids love to come to the activities they have . They have a calendar to take home so u can know when they have activities for kids teens and even adults. Really recommend checking out the library this summer .
Amazing employees and fast service. My sister made a small blunder and they were nice and fast arranged what we we renting. Also, when they hand our items, they give us important information and are currently to my experience giving masks.
I come to this library almost everyday and I've never had a problem until today when I witnessed a grown man in the computer section watching p*rn and two seats away from him was A CHILD!! The kid was about 12-15 years of age. Definitely under 18 and definitely VERY uncomfortable to even work in that room! I told the desk employee and he didn't believe me at first so he checked while I left the room. When I returned, the man was still sitting there. Then I turned to the lady next to me and asked if she noticed it too, she said yes and then went to the main desk to complain. When she complained I complained again the employee and both the main desk said they can't do anything about it. They told me that if I felt comfortable to sit in the children's computers to resolve it. I moved to another section and he is still watching disturbing content! This is by far the most uncomfortable experience ever. Don't recommend coming here anymore!! Once, the security followed me and kicked me out because I had outside food. Why can't the security do that with this man who is still free to watch p*rn in the presence of children!!
Everyone there is awesome! Always ready to help if you need it and always with a smile.
This place has definitely changed over the years. It use to be the stereotypical quiet library, and now it's become a social spot for many. That's not a bad thing, unless you were looking for a quiet place to read and study; then you might be out of luck. Renovations have made this place look nice and modern, but with additions like the snack bar, a nicer kids zone, large conference rooms and computer cafe; this place has become less library and more an indoor Park of sorts. However, the library still has its redeemable qualities. Volunteers and librarians alike are always willing to help, and with programs like "Friends of the Library, " buying your own books is affordable and easy. Overall, this place is still a great library, I just wish the noise could be kept to a minimum.
Library itself is nice. The Friends of the Library and some of their staff, not so much. Unfortunately, it takes only one person to ruin the reputation of an establishment but I have noticed a bit of a disturbing trend lately. It seems their staff made up of volunteers are either untrained or disregard the rules established by their own facility. They have a price list but disregard it almost completely. They charge whatever price they want depending on who is there and even when it is pointed out they still try to overcharge. For example, I bought a few books that the volunteer originally quoted as being $7.00. I asked him an Asian kid who refused to provide a name to double check the price proceeded to be rude and kept asking, "Are you going to buy it or not?" I replied, "Yes but at the listed prices not yours!" He refused to double check and it wasn't until other customers demanded to know if the price was right, did he double check. Turns out the true cost of the books was $2.50 not $7.00. That is too big of a difference to be a simple mistake. Turns out this kid and some of the others consistently overcharge. Perhaps this is why they refuse to provide receipts even when asked to do so. It is a shame because now it is hard to trust their personnel. If they have a price list they are supposed to honor it. Perhaps they will learn one day.
