Skateboarding is one of the most common recreational sports today. Everyday, all over the world, new skateboarders pick up their boards and start taking part in the sport. It is estimated that there are almost 20 million skateboarders around the world – and it really is no wonder, since the creativity and freedom of skateboarding is hard to compare to any other sport. We found that there is a great concern for the safety of kids participating in skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX biking. Since there is no safe and legal place in Sparta for our youth to conduct those activities, we formed the Sparta Skate Park Committee. It is with great hopes that we will succeed in building a bike and skateboard park in Sparta, WI.
